NOTES FROM LORI

Hello October! It's time to welcome crisp days, cool nights, and all your fall favorites like soup recipes or a pumpkin spiced latte. Fall is continued proof that change is truly beautiful. I really love this time of year and look forward to changing leaves and digging out my boots and sweaters. After a long, hot summer, the fall weather is rather refreshing. I hope you can carve out time for some fun this month to enjoy all that autumn has to offer.

As we head into the fourth quarter, we are reminded that there is still time to finish the year off strong. We have seen a real uptick in membership activity over the last few weeks. We have welcomed more new members, seen growth among our existing members, and have a steady stream of non-member bookings in our meeting and conference rooms. We can feel the energy in all our workspaces! Join us for Slice of the West Metro at Minnetonka OffiCenter on October 13 and Slice of Woodbury on October 27. It is a great way to connect with other members of our Work Awesome community.

We have two new podcast episodes this month featuring my personal take on a shared workspace community as well as our very own General Manager, Amanda Johnson, who shares the results of our annual member survey. We are proud of the work being done at our 6 OffiCenter locations.

I hope October brings you 31 days of treats and no tricks, good health, abundant blessings, warm surprises, and Work Awesome energy. I will see you in the workspaces!

Helping Kids Sleep Better, One Bed at a Time

We recently hosted a Donation Drive to support My Very Own Bed, OneCommunity Partner at Park, through their annual Steps for Sleep event. Between our members and our matching total, we were able to raise $1,886, helping provide 4 children with a brand-new bed and Dream Kit, complete with bedding, books, and a stuffed animal. A comfortable bed can make a meaningful difference in a child's daily life, providing a safe space to rest, recharge, and feel at home. We are grateful to everyone who donated and helped us support this important local organization. Thank you to our members and team for coming together to make a difference. Learn more about My Very Own Bed HERE.

What may seem like a simple cleaning can provide families with comfort and peace of mind. Read HERE.

The Bailey Group, France Member, hosts Leadership Matters, a podcast featuring candid conversations and real-world leadership lessons. Each episode creates space for thoughtful dialogue around what it means to lead with clarity, intention, and impact. BlackJack Friday is happening on October 30, and this month, we're adding a Halloween twist. Played on the last Friday of every month, BlackJack Friday always gives you a chance to test your luck, but this time, every hand wins a 100 GRAND (bar), whether you win or lose. Score a regular blackjack and you'll win a lunch card, or hit a suited blackjack and take home $50. It's the perfect excuse to take a quick break and have a little fun. You can't win if you don't play, so make time to swing by the front desk and see what the cards have in store!

The Randy Shaver Cancer Research & Community Fund, Minnetonka Member, is partnering with the American Legion in Chanhassen to host a Fish Fry on Oct. 9. Join them for a delicious dinner featuring Alaskan Pollock, German potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, and a dinner roll, all for just $20. Even better, $10 from every fish dinner will be donated directly to the Randy Shaver Community Fund. Reservations are not required, so stop by, enjoy a great meal, and support a great cause. More information HERE.

Stay Ahead of Flu Season

Flu season is just around the corner, making now a good time to think about your annual flu vaccination. If you choose to get vaccinated, free flu shots are available at all Walgreens locations, with the option to walk in or schedule an appointment ahead of time. The vaccine is recommended for individuals ages 3 and older and is safe for those who are pregnant, diabetic, or living with a chronic health condition. Flu vaccines are updated each year to help protect against the strains expected to be most common, which makes getting vaccinated annually important. It can take up to two weeks for your body to build full protection, so consider getting your flu shot early. Schedule your appointment HERE.

We partnered with the Randy Shaver Cancer Research & Community Fund and Board & Brush in Woodbury on September 17 to host Paint Out Cancer. More than twenty women in our community came together for an evening of creativity, connection, and to support a great cause. Guests had the chance to choose their own projects while 20% of the proceeds were donated to the RSCRCF. It was a great night of bringing women together while supporting an organization making a difference in the fight against cancer.

The Randy Shaver Cancer Research & Community Fund is also hosting their 5th annual Spooktacular Shindig on Thursday, October 29 from 4:30PM to 8PM. Shop 'til you drop at Roseann and Heather's favorite boutique, Abode & Co. in Plymouth while supporting a great cause. The evening will consist of giveaways, games, prizes, shopping, and more. Plus, 20% of all proceeds from the event will be donated to the RSCRCF. Grab shopping bags and a friend (or two) and join in on the fun! More details HERE.

Woodbury Community Foundation, OneCommunity Member at Woodbury, is hosting their annual Winter Clothing Drive from October 10 to December 5. As the temperatures begin to drop, they are collecting winter essentials to help local children and teens stay warm throughout the season. For elementary aged children, they are looking for snow pants, waterproof gloves, and boots. For middle and high school youth, they are in need of winter coats and waterproof gloves. There will be 30 drop-off locations throughout the community, including Woodbury OffiCenter. If you would prefer to donate financially and have Woodbury Community Foundation shop on your behalf, you can donate HERE.
