Every Sign Has A Story

Saratoga Jet Center

Lifetime Saratogan (Saratoga, WY) Ladd Sanger dreamed of owning a jet from the time he was 10 years old, riding his bike anywhere and everywhere to be near planes, running errands—anything that would bring him near aviation. Then, in 1972, his dad bought a new airplane from Saratoga Jet Center, where he is still based now.

Ladd ended up accomplishing his little-boy vision of owning his own jet and flying it at age 45. But the story doesn’t stop there. Ladd says he never really imagined he’d buy the Jet Center, but he did so last year. It’s now become a gateway to and from Saratoga and will be a legacy location that will serve the area for generations.

“Saratoga Jet Center is the front door and the back door to Saratoga, as it’s on the main street, so it mattered to us that the branding was inspirational and uplifting to the people who fly in here, and those that live here as well,” said Sanger.

Well, we think the story is amazing! Congratulations, Ladd Sanger Family, along with all the staff of Saratoga Jet Center!

Ent Credit Union Is Now

Wings Credit Union

Shown in the video thumbnail above is lead installer Chad Sanzari in the cage.

Ent Credit Union is now Wings Credit Union! We were way, way up at the headquarters in Colorado Springs and did the fabrication and install for the 31’ x almost 11’ channel letters at building top, the additional facelit channel letters for the main entrance, and the new monument signage (two of them) featuring the new branding.

Rather than get into the technicals about how the signs were produced, we’ll simply take the time to congratulate our friends at Ent and our new friends at Wings Credit Union for their exciting merger, and thank them both for their business, past and present!

Recent Work

This large, illuminated monument sign for Piney Trail Estates by Toll Brothers at Piney Lake Road and County Line, in Parker/Aurora, features a custom fabricated 2” deep openwork reverse channel logo sign set in a custom frame. The logo features three paint finishes, one of which is a powder coated ‘Southern Pecan’ woodgrain, and it is illuminated with white LEDs. Power supplies are GE Tetra LED 24 volt variable power. The monument has 2” reverse channel letters which are also illuminated. The base is comprised of CMU block with an antique cream stone veneer.  It features a large planter with matching stone veneer. Not shown is the smaller nonilluminated column marker.

Evergreen Ridge by LGI Homes at 1463 Ducett Heights in Colorado Springs has one of our favorite monument styles for its new signage – post and beam! The CMU block column with stone face houses a custom fabricated plaque of two layers of flat cut out aluminum with paint finishes. A rough-cut cedar support beam runs across the top of the sign, with steel bracket wraps stabilize the sign from the beam. Steel i-beams attach to stone pedestal base on the opposite side of the column. The Evergreen Ridge sign itself is comprised of a ¼” brushed aluminum panel with routed out text with stud mounted face and letter centers. The standalone tapered column is of the same CMU block with stone face, and with the same fabrication of the tree plaque, along with a ½” cast aluminum plaque with raised text. Timeless design and rustic charm!

DTJ Design gets stylishly simple building letters for its Boulder location at 1105 Canyon. Dimensional nonilluminated letters constructed of acrylic with paint finishes are mounted with threaded blind studs with silicone. The backer panel is painted to coordinate blend with the building color and is flush mounted. Less is more, as usual! You can see DTJ Design’s beautiful work at dtjdesign.com.

For the downtown Loveland Bank of Colorado branch at 130 E 3rd Street, there are several signs to highlight! The first is an illuminated curved (radiused) wall sign that measures about 22’ wide by 3’, constructed of routed aluminum with push-through clear acrylic letters. Faces have opaque white film overlay, and illumination is provided by a white LED grid. The building sign is approximately 26’ wide by 4’6” feet tall and has halo-illuminated reverse channel letters and logo. 5000K white LEDs light the letters/logo. Another sign on the side, almost the same size, replicates the building signage up top. ATM portico sign is routed aluminum with push-through clear acrylic and white film overlay. Illumination is with a white LED grid.

Points West Community Bank, with their iconic train logo, has new signage at their 7887 E. Belleview Avenue, Suite 100, Englewood location. The exterior illuminated cabinet sign is constructed of routed aluminum with push through acrylic letters. Digitally printed block-out film graphics for logo. Illumination is provided by 5000K LEDs. Exterior sign is about 8’4” wide by 3’6” tall. The matching interior sign is made of aluminum with flat cut acrylic lettering and digital detail for logo. We love the intense blue! Customized parking sign is a composite panel with full cover digitally printed graphics, installed on existing structure. Night depository sign is ¼” thick acrylic, painted the brand’s specific blue, with direct printed graphics. Interior window film is 3M ‘Dusted Crystal’ die cut and applied to glass doors.

A masonry wall with faux stone mounted to CMU block sets off this colorful flat cut out aluminum logo and letters for Heart Of The Rockies Christian Church at 6501 Brittany Street in Fort Collins. A digital print graphic overlay sets off the logo, and the royal purple signature color paint sets off the lettering. The monument is topped off with buff sandstone caps. Thank you, Heart Of The Rockies Christian Church, for your business!

Aluminum composite panel signs for Rexel Electrical Supplies at 3680 Draft Horse Road in Loveland. One sign is 10’ wide by 4’ high, and the other is 8’ wide by 3’ high. Full cover digitally printed graphics give the sign life. Flush mounted to wall. Thanks for your business, Rexel!

Two sets of new channel letters for Burke Cleaners at 6120 Firestone Blvd. in Longmont. 5” deep face lit with aluminum construction with aluminum backs, painted branded colors. Illumination is provided by 5000K LEDs. Face decoration consists of digital print graphics on standard 3M translucent for logo and ‘Burke’ letters, with digitally printed perforated film on ‘Cleaners’ letters. Raceway is painted to match the building.

Above and below, Wings Credit Union, formerly Ent Credit Union, has expanding branding being done all over Colorado right now. This location is at 280 South Union Blvd. in Lakewood. We start with a channel letter set for the front of the building; the 13’ by 4’6” sign features 5” deep pan channel letters that are face illuminated with 5000K white LEDs. The second set is also 5” deep and features the same illumination and construction. For the interior, Steel Arts Edgelit 2” deep halo illuminated reverse channels with paint finishes, illuminated with 6500K white LEDs. We didn’t crop out the Denver Bronco standup because he’s just too great!
