Around The Diocese

Installation of Methodist Bishop Sandy Olewine

Bishop Megan and Canon of the Ordinary, Julie Wakelee, were warmly welcomed as ecumenical guests on Sunday for the joyful installation of Methodist Bishop Sandy Olewine, the new bishop of the Cal-Nevada region of the Methodist Church.

The event was filled with a spirit of unity and celebration, as leaders from different Christian traditions came together in support of Bishop Olewine’s new role. Bishop Megan and Canon Wakelee had the pleasure of sharing in rich fellowship with other bishops, exchanging stories, and building deeper connections. The day was made even more memorable by the stunning beauty of the historic Japanese American church that hosted the event, its peaceful setting and timeless architecture offering a perfect backdrop to the occasion. It was a truly uplifting experience, filled with joy, friendship, and a deep sense of community.

St. Peter’s Red Bluff

On Saturday, October 12, St. Peter's in Red Bluff joyfully celebrated its 14th annual Oktoberfest, bringing together the community for a day of delicious food and lively fellowship. The event was a fantastic success, filled with laughter, great conversation, and the warm spirit of togetherness. A heartfelt thank you to all the congregations who joined us in making the festivities so memorable!

St. Albans in Arcata

On October 6, Bishop Megan visited St. Albans in Arcata, sharing a joyous time of fellowship and prayer with the parish clergy, confirmands, and their sponsors. Later in the week, the Bishop joined the Vestry for dinner, continuing the spirit of connection and celebration. We are always grateful for her visits and look forward to welcoming her again. The time spent together was truly uplifting for all.
