Indiana Hunt-Martin, 97, is interviewed Monday, Oct. 14, 2019, at the Association of the United States Army annual meeting in Washington. Hunt-Martin is one of seven living members of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the only all-black, all-female unit to serve in Europe during World War II.

We were honored to host  Celebrating Women In The Army: The Past, The Present, The Future  at the 2019 AUSA Annual Meeting  last Monday! The event featured a documentary screening and panel discussion of The Six Triple Eight Postal Directory Battalion.

Stars and Stripes  was there to capture some of the amazing moments celebrating the 6888th Battalion and Indiana Hunt-Martin, a 97-year-old World War II veteran from the historic unit whom many of the attendees credited for “paving the way” for their service.
