Beyond Power Struggles

Questions For Educators That Connect With Students

With Lisa Rothman

Thursday, October 23, 5:30 - 7:30pm PDT

Live Interactive Workshop on Zoom

When a student doesn’t do what a teacher expects of them, it can be hard on everyone involved, including the rest of the class.

Drawing from real-life examples, this interactive workshop provides practical tools for asking curiosity-driven questions to uncover and resolve the underlying issues and bypass power struggles altogether.

From this workshop you’ll:

  • Experience the transformative power of empathy in fueling connection with your students.
  • Learn to ask questions that inspire students to share information about their needs and the underlying issues.
  • Explore whether a student’s actions stem from inability “can’t” or unwillingness “won’t” to meet expectations and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Develop skills to co-create solutions that meet the needs of the teacher, the student, and the classroom as a whole.
