OUR MISSION:
St. Rita School inspires students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight to achieve academic excellence in a safe, nurturing and faith-filled Catholic environment.
We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.
FROM THE DESK OF MRS. TIEZZI

Dear SRS Parents,

I am very happy to report that our NEASC visit was very successful. The visiting team was welcome in true St. Rita School style. I am most grateful to Marie Rourke and Kathy Halloran for chairing the NEASC self-study process, Carissa Civitello for planning a lovely welcome dinner, and all our teachers, students and families for your hard work and support.  Throughout the three day visit, the team found every member of the “school community to be welcoming, hospitable and accommodating”. They found our students and faculty a “thoughtful and articulate community of learners” and the visiting team was thoroughly impressed with our school. The visiting team wishes the St. Rita School community continued success as we utilize the recommendations found in the report as we continue to plan for our future. The official notification of continuing accreditation from NEASC will be forthcoming sometime in February.

If last weeks NEASC visit wasn’t exciting enough, on Thursday, Sr. Anne and I were very fortunate to witness the Episcopal Ordination of His Excellency The Most Reverend Juan Miguel Betancourt, SEMV as the new Auxiliary Bishop of Hartford. The Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford was filled to capacity to celebration this auspicious occasion including representatives from many of the Catholic schools in the Archdiocese. I am most grateful that Luke Hamling and Justin Caulfield and their parents for joining Sr. Anne and me by representing St. Rita School at the ordination.

I am so looking forward to seeing you all on Friday at our annual Trunk N Treat. If you haven’t signed up to attend there is still time to do so. Candy will be collected all week. Enjoy your week and thank you for entrusting your child/ren to our care.

God Bless,
Mrs. Tiezzi

Volunteer grant programs, also known as “Dollars for Doers” programs, are corporate giving programs created to encourage volunteerism in communities where employees live and work.
Through these programs, companies provide monetary grants to organizations where employees volunteer regularly.

Please take a moment and ask if your employer participates in a Volunteer Grants Program. Your time and talent at St. Rita School could turn into dollars for our school! Questions? Feel free to contact Joanne Bruno at  [email protected] .
