From the Desk of Mrs. Tiezzi
Dear St. Rita Parents/Guardians,
This Friday our Halloween festivities begin at 5:45 P.M. with our 12th Annual Trunk or Treat. Over 400 people have registered to attend. We are in need of additional decorated vehicles and volunteer parking lot attendants to make this event extra special and safe for our families. Thank you to everyone who has donated 2 bags of candy for our little ghouls, goblins, pirates, princesses, and vast menagerie of superheroes! If you have not yet done so, you may still contribute to the event by sending in your bags of candy tomorrow or Friday.
Halloween, St. Rita style, will be held on Monday!!! The teachers have planned many educational and fun activities for our students on Monday. Please refer to the email from your child’s teacher regarding costumes and the costume parade (younger students only). It should be a fun-filled and fright-filled day!
Parents are reminded that they must come into the school building and sign their child out if he/she is leaving early. School begins at 8:15 for students in grades K-8 and our day ends at 2:40. It is important for your child to be in school during those hours to receive the maximum benefit. Children arriving late or leaving early frequently are losing out on critical parts of their school day. Morning opening and afternoon wrap-up help set the tone for success at school and for success with homework. Thank you for your assistance with instilling an important life skill in your child during these formative years.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Paint St. Rita School Pink dress down day. Through your generosity, St. Rita School will be donating $739.00 to Paint Hamden Pink to help fight breast cancer. Our next dress down day for a cause will be on Friday, November 4. For $5.00 your child may dress in comfy cozy clothing (no slippers please) and all monies raised will be used to assist one of our alumni, Luke Hamling with his Eagle Scout project. Thank you for your support.
Please read the entire Constant Contact as there is important information regarding the upcoming Thanksgiving Food Drive to support the St. Paul VI food bank.
The weather is turning colder but the students will continue to go outside for recess and lunchtime, weather permitting. Please be sure your child/ren is dressed appropriately and also please label their personal belongings, especially fleeces and coats.
Thank you for entrusting your child/ren to our care. Enjoy the rest of the week. Can’t wait to see you all on Friday!
God Bless,
Mrs. Tiezzi
