ECA STRATEGIC PLAN SURVEY 5
Closes on October 30 at 10:00 am
Strategic plan Survey 5 was sent to your email on October 23.
Curriculum and instruction are at the heart of what we do at Eden. It is our aim to provide exceptional classroom curriculum and experiences that engage our students’ hearts and minds to desire, to think, and to act like Jesus.
Your responses to the questions in Survey 5 will help us to determine what follow-up discussions, research, and focus groups need to be facilitated in order to discern what strategic goals will help us to better achieve our mission.
We value the time you invest in providing your feedback. To show our appreciation, each week one respondent will be awarded a CHICK-FIL-A FAMILY MEAL. Congratulations to our Survey 3 recipient, Carrie Fortunato!
Add your voice to the conversation and complete Survey 5 today!

MEET ECA'S SAFETY AND SECURITY DIRECTOR
Samuel Hugg, our full-time, Safety and Security Director, joined us at ECA through our security provider, Romans XIII Consulting, which is led by Frank Murphy (ECA’s former security director). Samuel’s primary responsibility is to monitor and ensure the safety and security of students, staff, parents, and facilities at Eden Christian Academy’s three campuses while contributing to an environment conducive to the school’s mission.
Samuel was born into a Messianic Jewish home in the United States and migrated to Israel at a young age. He later returned to the U.S. graduating from high school in California and completing two years of college in photography and graphic design. While on a mission trip to Israel and India in 2014, Samuel felt called to return to Israel where he served in a combat position in the IDF (Israel Defense Force). He is currently in the IDF reserves. After completing his active service, he opened a photography business in Israel and worked in security for two years.
Samuel returned to the U.S. last December. He immediately began working and training with Frank Murphy, CEO of Romans XIII Consulting. Samuel joined our staff with Frank’s high recommendation and full support.
Samuel tells us, “I enjoy being able to use my experience and training to serve, protect, and bless at ECA. It is an honor to see the next generation learn about God and grow to love Jesus."
School safety is a partnership between our school families and our community. If you see or hear something of concern within a campus, on social media, or from your child, please contact your school principal or local law enforcement.

Dear Parents,
I previously wrote to you about the thing that is obvious to us all; things in the world are not the way they are supposed to be.
We know, however, that God did not leave us lost and alone in the ruins of His Creation. In the person of Jesus Christ, God took on our humanity, and submitted Himself to a State sanctioned execution. He took the death that we deserved, having rejected God’s gracious invitation to live as His children in communion with Him. He suffered on the cross as the punishment that justice required for our failings, and in His sacrifice He created the path by which we can be restored in our relationship with God and one another and enter into our calling.
Scripture tells that there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
We all find our full humanity in this path that Christ showed us. This is happening when you pour your life into your children, and when your child’s teachers pour themselves into their students.
Growing up in a community that models the self-donative love of Christ forms our children. As Saint Augustine said, “the cathechism is the life of the catechist.”
Thank you for your engagement in our life together.
Blessings,
Mrs. MJ Botula
Interim Principal Berkeley Hills Campus

THANKSGIVING FEAST
November 20, 2020
Our annual Thanksgiving Feast is on the calendar! This wonderful meal is specially prepared for our students by Medure's Catering and is an Eden favorite!
The lunch includes turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, buttered green beans, yams, stuffing, roll, milk, and dessert. The cost is $7.00.
You'll be able to order your child this delicious meal and, again this year, you will have the opportunity to purchase a meal to be donated to the Light of Life Rescue Mission. Every donated meal will be generously matched by Medure's catering, so one meal becomes two! If Eden families donate 500 meals, Medure's will make it 1,000. Together, the ECA family and Medure’s Catering donated over 3,400 meals to Light of Life last year. What a blessing it will be to those in need in our city!
Watch for order details coming soon!
