ECA STRATEGIC PLAN SURVEY 5
Closes on October 30 at 10:00 am

Strategic plan Survey 5 was sent to your email on October 23.

Curriculum and instruction are at the heart of what we do at Eden. It is our aim to provide exceptional classroom curriculum and experiences that engage our students’ hearts and minds to desire, to think, and to act like Jesus.

Your responses to the questions in Survey 5 will help us to determine what follow-up discussions, research, and focus groups need to be facilitated in order to discern what strategic goals will help us to better achieve our mission.

We value the time you invest in providing your feedback. To show our appreciation, each week one respondent will be awarded a CHICK-FIL-A FAMILY MEAL. Congratulations to our Survey 3 recipient, Carrie Fortunato!

MEET ECA'S SAFETY AND SECURITY DIRECTOR

Samuel Hugg, our full-time, Safety and Security Director, joined us at ECA through our security provider, Romans XIII Consulting, which is led by Frank Murphy (ECA’s former security director). Samuel’s primary responsibility is to monitor and ensure the safety and security of students, staff, parents, and facilities at Eden Christian Academy’s three campuses while contributing to an environment conducive to the school’s mission.

Samuel was born into a Messianic Jewish home in the United States and migrated to Israel at a young age. He later returned to the U.S. graduating from high school in California and completing two years of college in photography and graphic design. While on a mission trip to Israel and India in 2014, Samuel felt called to return to Israel where he served in a combat position in the IDF (Israel Defense Force). He is currently in the IDF reserves. After completing his active service, he opened a photography business in Israel and worked in security for two years.

Samuel returned to the U.S. last December. He immediately began working and training with Frank Murphy, CEO of Romans XIII Consulting. Samuel joined our staff with Frank’s high recommendation and full support.

Samuel tells us, “I enjoy being able to use my experience and training to serve, protect, and bless at ECA. It is an honor to see the next generation learn about God and grow to love Jesus."

School safety is a partnership between our school families and our community. If you see or hear something of concern within a campus, on social media, or from your child, please contact your school principal or local law enforcement.
MESSAGE FROM MRS. HOLT
Dear Parents,

One morning when choosing an outfit for school and laboring over finding just the right coordinating accessories, the Lord brought to mind the scripture, “Man looks at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7.

Realizing I had spent way too much time on this task, I considered who in the world was I trying to impress anyway? Don’t get me wrong, a well-coordinated outfit does have its appeal, but I’m thankful when the Lord uses everyday situations to turn my heart toward Him.

It is so easy to look at ourselves and others or our circumstances with human eyes and forget to view things in a spiritual light. We can all too quickly look at a person’s outward appearance or position and make judgements.

If anyone could have boasted about who they were, it was Jesus. However, Philippians 2 tells us that “Though he was God he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to...he humbled himself to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.”

Teachers and staff count it a privilege to point students toward Christ. We are praying for specific and unmistakable moments each day to show students our humble and loving Savior, Jesus.

Would you pray with us to that end?

Mrs. Holt

GRADES 1-6 WEXFORD CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Monday, December 7, 2020
Christ Church at Grove Farm
Concert begins at 7:00 pm

Last week we were excited to announce to parents that Christ Church at Grove Farm will graciously allow us to use their facility for our Christmas Concert. We are thrilled to be planning this celebration!

Here are details that will help you plan for the concert. Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we all work together for health and safety and in compliance with our host facility.

  • The Berkeley Hills and Wexford campuses will have individual concerts on different evenings.
  • The Wexford Christmas Concert is on Monday, December 7.

  • All guests will be required to wear a face mask while inside the Christ Church facility.
  • All students will need to wear a mask on entry to the building and while seated waiting to perform.
  • Students will be able to sing and play instruments without masks as they will be socially distanced on the risers.

  • Arrival time for Choral students is 6:15 pm.
  • Arrival time for Band, Rhythm and Chimes students is 6:00 pm.

THANKSGIVING FEAST
November 20, 2020

Our annual Thanksgiving Feast is on the calendar! This wonderful meal is specially prepared for our students by Medure's Catering and is an Eden favorite!

The lunch includes turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, buttered green beans, yams, stuffing, roll, milk, and dessert. The cost is $7.00.

You'll be able to order your child this delicious meal and, again this year, you will have the opportunity to purchase a meal to be donated to the Light of Life Rescue Mission. Every donated meal will be generously matched by Medure's catering, so one meal becomes two! If Eden families donate 500 meals, Medure's will make it 1,000. Together, the ECA family and Medure’s Catering donated over 3,400 meals to Light of Life last year. What a blessing it will be to those in need in our city!

Watch for order details coming soon!
