October 3 Meeting, 6:45-9pm
Artist Presenter:
Junanne Peck, Printmaking and the Spontaneous Mark
"Art is the vehicle I use to express the images that spring from my dreams and meditation, creating strength and health, which can be drawn upon to bring greater happiness and contentment to our lives." Junanne Peck
Join us for a printmaking demonstration by accomplished artist Junanne Peck. Information about her art and demonstration of various printmaking techniques will be presented. This lecture will be the close of her 3 day workshop held in Denton which will include monotypes, drypoint, collagraph, woodcut, stencils and the spontaneous mark. A multifaceted artist, Peck produces works in a range of media from acrylic and watercolor to mixed-media, assemblage and encaustic. Her printmaking techniques include collagraphs, drypoint, polyester plate lithography, etching and monotypes. Drawing is the foundation of her art, it is the vehicle she uses to express many of the ideas that spring from her dreams and meditation. Her sketchbook is always at hand.
Peck is a teaching artist in the DISD and FWISD and also in her studio Black Crow Press in Fort Worth, TX. She was selected as a Texas Originals (TXO) Artist by the Texas Commission on the Arts and is a Texas born practicing artist - painter and printmaker.

Carol Henry is the exhibitor until November 1.
Many artists capture their environment and bring it to life. Carol Henry has surrounded herself with beautiful animals and she breathes life into them with every stroke of her brush. Henry's keen eye for detail and grasp of what inspires has allowed her to breed several champion Quarter horses that drive much of her work. She has applied these same skills to her powerful and sometimes intense paintings, as well as her often sublime pastoral efforts.
What Carol Henry conveys in her work, is the true spirit of the horse, or any animal she may be rendering. This gift of bringing the multiple dimensions of a beautiful animal to a flat canvas is an inspiration to behold. In many of her equine depictions, gentle pastoral scenes relax the eye, with stunning beauty as the focus. While her next work the horse leaps off the canvas, revealing muscles and movement.
See more of Carol Henry's work at artsykarol.com.
Carol Stoecker is the coordinator for this exhibition. If you are interested in showing, please contact her at storytimeartist@yahoo.com.

We meet the first Thursday at the Beulah Center at 7801 S-I35 E., Global Spheres in Corinth and the third Thursday at PAAC (Patterson-Appleton Arts Center.) The time is from 10 A.M. until 1 P.M. at the Beulah Center and 9:30 - 12:30 at the PAAC. We bring something to work on and/or to share with our VADO friends.
