OUR MISSION:
St. Rita School inspires students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight to achieve academic excellence in a safe, nurturing and faith-filled Catholic environment.
We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.
FROM THE DESK OF MRS. TIEZZI
Dear SRS Parents,
Tomorrow is Halloween—All Hallows Eve-the eve of All Saints Day. On Thursday in recognition of All Saints Day,  a day to reflect on the lives of the saints and martyrs throughout the ages and a holy day of obligation, students in grades PreK-4 through grade 8 will be attending Mass @ 9:00 A.M. Parents and grandparents are welcome to attend Mass with us.  Students will not be attending Mass on Friday. Students who have best exemplified the Fruit of the Holy Spirit for the month of October gentleness will be recognized after Mass on Thursday.

The Fruit of the Holy Spirit for the month of November is self control. It takes self-control to get along with others and to make peace instead of constantly getting into conflict. It takes self control to patiently bear with others rather than quickly condemning them; it takes self-control to not automatically look out for yourself but kindly look out for other people.  How can we model for our children the fruit of the Holy Spirit in our thoughts and actions? Some simple ways are to pray, study, meditate and fast to draw closer to God, the source of the Holy Spirit.

This Saturday, November 3 Venerable Mother Clelia Merloni, Foundress of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus will be beatified at the Basilica of St. John Lateran in Rome, Italy. Beatification is the final step before canonization or being formally recognized as a saint in the church. The beatification will be televised on Saturday on EWTN at 6:00 A.M. Live and again at 12 noon.  We will celebrate Mother Clelia’s beatification and the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at a prayer service on November 9.

This Sunday, November 4 begins a new initiative with the New England area Catholic Schools. This year the 11 (arch) dioceses of New England will be celebrating their own Catholic Schools Week November 4-11, 2018. We will be hosting an Open House for prospective families on Sunday, November 4 from 1-3 and, on Tuesday, November 6, Election Day from 9-11 prospective students and their parents may visit and sit in on classes. We have also launching a new family referral initiative. As our parents are our best ambassadors please continue to spread the good word about your child’s educational experience here at St. Rita. Details about Open House, visiting day and the referral program are available on our website.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Trunk or Treat and Middle School dance last Friday evening. It was wonderful to see so many people in attendance. Have a wonderful and safe Halloween with your children.

God Bless,
Mrs. Tiezzi
