PARISH UPDATE | October 31, 2020
Lord God, as the election approaches, we seek to better understand the issues and concerns that confront our city/state/country, and how the Gospel compels us to respond as faithful citizens in our community. We ask for eyes that are free from blindness so that we might see each other as brothers and sisters, one and equal in dignity, especially those who are victims of abuse and violence, deceit and poverty. We ask for ears that will hear the cries of children unborn and those abandoned, men and women oppressed because of race or creed, religion or gender. We ask for minds and hearts that are open to hearing the voice of leaders who will bring us closer to your Kingdom. We pray for discernment so that we may choose leaders who hear your Word, live your love, and keep in the ways of your truth as they follow in the steps of Jesus and his Apostles and guide us to your Kingdom of justice and peace. We ask this in the name of your Son Jesus Christ and through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

UNITED WITH LOVE: The Ministry of Love Continues!

Recently a parishioner completed one of Agnes Guiselin's recycled bag sleeping mats! Looking for a fun and easy service project to do from home? Do you have way too many plastic bags stuffed away just taking up space? Agnes has an online video tutorial to walk you through the steps on how to turn your plastic bag collection into a complete sleeping mat on your own!
MASS COORDINATORS STILL NEEDED

We are still looking for an additional person(s) to fill the role of Mass Coordinator for ONE 11AM MASS per month.

FAMILIES: This is a great opportunity for families to have a role in their parish together. COUPLES: What a great way to serve the Lord alongside your spouse!
INDIVIDUALS: All you need to serve in this ministry is a love for Christ and His Church and the willingness to give a little extra time before and after 11am Mass, once a month.

If you are interested in fulfilling this need within our parish, please contact Kelly Schmitmeyer at kschmitmeyer@scpchurch.org *Training Provided*
YOUTH CHOIR IS STARTING BACK UP at St. Christopher for grades 2-8! Social distancing will be put in place at practices and when they sing at Mass.

MASS SCHEDULE: Starting in December, the Youth Choir will sing at the 9:00 Mass on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month and on special occasions (Christmas, Easter, etc.)
If we have a large group, we will split into 2 groups and divide up who sings which Sunday so that the kids can be safely spaced out in the choir area. PRACTICES: Practices will likely be on select Wednesdays 6:00-6:50 and will start in November.

INTERESTED? If your child would like to be in Youth Choir, contact Kelly Schmitmeyer at kschmitmeyer@scpchurch.org
LIVE STREAM NOW FROM YOU ROKU DEVICE/TV!

Mass is now available on our own custom ROKU channel! Simple search the channel list for "St. Christopher" and add our channel to your device! Thank you for your patience as we strive to improve your at-home worship experience. We are still in-process for the FIRE TV channel.
The 40 Days for Life campaign is happening now: Sept. 23rd - Nov. 1st. We invite you to come out to the sidewalk in front of 1401 E. Stroop Rd. in Kettering to pray for the moms, dads, babies, and workers who are entering the abortion facility. There are so many other options available to moms and you are a sign of hope & love when you are present.  The vigil runs daily between the hours of 7am until 7pm, and we are asking for just 1 hour of your time.  Please give prayerful consideration in light of our call to stewardship and the giving of our time, talent, and treasures. As often is the case, the giving of our time blesses both those we serve and ourselves.
