Cholla District Weekly Update
October 31, 2025
| | | |
Dear Cholla Residents,
Happy Halloween fellow neighbors! With October ending, the holiday season will be upon us swiftly. So many of us have busy calendars this time of year, and I wanted to touch base on two special holiday events to remember including Glendale Glitters Kickoff Weekend, Nov. 28-29, in Downtown Glendale, and the 9th Annual Cholla District Holiday Mixer, scheduled on December 4, at Foothills Recreation and Aquatics Center.
| | |
Due to the Downtown Campus Redevelopment Project, this year's Glendale Glitters footprint will be focused more in the area surrounding the Glendale Civic Center. Decorators are already hard at work installing over 2.2 - 2.5 million lights throughout 16 blocks of Downtown Glendale, with trees fully wrapped, as well as a multitude of special decorations and installations that will fill the courtyards and line city buildings just south of the Civic Center. Kickoff weekend for Glendale Glitters is scheduled for November 28-29 with a special lighting ceremony on November 28 at 5:45 PM in front of Glendale Civic Center. If you are interested in being a vendor for the kickoff weekend, the vendor application is available on our web site. The holiday light display will be on every night from 5 PM - 10 PM through December 31 for all to enjoy.

Cholla District residents are also warmly invited to RSVP for the 9th annual Cholla District Holiday Mixer on Thursday, December 4, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM in the Coyote Room at the Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center. Come enjoy refreshments, interact with city staff, and mingle with other neighbors in the district. Don't forget to wear your ugliest holiday sweater for a chance to win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place prizes with voting done by your fellow neighbors in the district. There will also be chances to win other prizes, including tickets to Glendale events. You must be a resident in the Cholla district to participate. Simply register online, or if you are unable to use the online form, contact Council Assistant Terri King for assistance. I look forward to celebrating the season with you!
| | November 4 (next Tuesday) is the last day to vote on the two important bond questions on the ballot. Visit the Glendale 2025 Bond Election web page for full details. If you have not already mailed back your ballot, you can drop it off at a secure ballot drop box or vote a replacement ballot in-person. Foothills Recreation and Aquatic Center in the Cholla District has a ballot drop box and in person voting available. Check all locations online or call (602) 506-1511 before visiting a voting location or drop box to ensure hours and availability. | | |
Warm Regards,
