Community eNews | October 5, 2025 | | We celebrated Homecoming all week, beginning with the crowning of the court! See more photos from the week's festivities on SmugMug. | | A Message from the Principal of Academics: |
Dear Carondelet Community,
This coming week, the world will pause to recognize the International Day of the Girl (Saturday, October 11), a United Nations observance that lifts up the dignity, rights, and voices of girls everywhere.
At Carondelet, we don’t wait for a single day to remind us of this commitment; we live it daily. Our mission, rooted in the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph, is to ensure that every young woman who walks through our doors is empowered to see herself as a leader, creator, and changemaker. We challenge our students to embrace the opportunities ahead of them and to act with courage and compassion to meet the needs of the times.
We also recognize that for far too many girls around the world, and even within our own country, such opportunities remain out of reach. That truth calls us to gratitude for the blessings we enjoy, and to a deeper responsibility to use our gifts in service of others.
As we approach October 11, may we remember that the work of empowering girls is not an annual observance, but a daily practice; one our school community embraces wholeheartedly.
Warmly,
Elizabeth Chaponot, Ph.D.
Principal for Academics

Make Sure You Are Subscribed to Emergency Updates
In the event of a schoolwide emergency, Carondelet has the capability to alert parents/guardians via email, phone call, and/or text messaging through a service called SchoolMessenger. In order for you to receive text messages from Carondelet in an emergency situation, you must opt in to this service.
To opt in now, text “Y” or “Yes” to 67587.
If you believe you’ve already opted in, you can text “Y” or “Yes” to 67587 again to confirm your status. If you previously had a student at a school that uses SchoolMessenger (such as De La Salle), your opt-in may already be active—unless you chose to opt out.
We will be testing our emergency notification system soon, so it is important that you know whether or not you are subscribed. Please direct any questions to the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications, Jill Okimoto.
