Dear Eden Family,
We have so much for which to be thankful.
We have completed five weeks of school full-time on campus! These weeks give witness to the promise that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. God has wielded the limitations, inconvenience, and sometimes even stress of conducting school in this unique year to cultivate ingenuity, renewed compassion, empathy, solidarity, and sharpening of our educational tools.
As I listen to parents of students at other schools share their frustrations with remote and hybrid learning, I reflect on all of the cooperative learning, outdoor classes, classroom fellowship and prayers, chapel worship, laughter, camaraderie, and interactive learning I have witnessed on our campuses this year. And, I can't contain my joy for what God has provided to our Eden family.
As I peruse Canvas and Renweb/FACTS and take in the volume of learning that has already happened and see student work hanging in classrooms and hallways, and as I observe classes in session and the prowess of our faculty at cultivating student desires for what is good, true, and beautiful, I am overwhelmed by the gifts we have already received this school year.
We should not be surprised that the Lord has provided for us to be on campus uninterrupted and so meaningfully engaged in discipleship together day in and day out. Parents, students, teachers, staff, administrators, and board members all prayed for such a blessing, and our Father has graciously answered us. After our experiences last spring, such a blessing is something we no longer take for granted.
It is my prayer that we would all take this opportunity to praise Him for his goodness to us. These days may not look precisely how we would like them to, but perhaps we have been given fresh perspective on the treasure that is simply being together and sitting at Jesus’ feet to learn to desire, to think, and to act like Him!
Let’s enjoy this moment, Eden family. And let’s expect that whatever comes, God will be working that together for our blessing and His glory as well!
