ECA STRATEGIC PLAN SURVEY 2
Closes on October 9 at 10:00 am
Strategic plan Survey 2 was sent to your email on October 2.
The board of directors and administration of Eden Christian Academy are committed to faithful stewardship of the Lord’s resources at the Lord’s school. Our desire is to glorify God through financial management of tuition, donor dollars, and facilities in a manner that reflects our core values and commitments while helping us to achieve our mission.
Your responses to questions in Survey 2 will help us determine what follow-up discussions, research, and focus groups need to be facilitated in order to discern the strategic goals for improvement that will best serve our goal of faithful stewardship at ECA.

Dear Eden Family,
We have so much for which to be thankful.
We have completed five weeks of school full-time on campus! These weeks give witness to the promise that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. God has wielded the limitations, inconvenience, and sometimes even stress of conducting school in this unique year to cultivate ingenuity, renewed compassion, empathy, solidarity, and sharpening of our educational tools.
As I listen to parents of students at other schools share their frustrations with remote and hybrid learning, I reflect on all of the cooperative learning, outdoor classes, classroom fellowship and prayers, chapel worship, laughter, camaraderie, and interactive learning I have witnessed on our campuses this year. And, I can't contain my joy for what God has provided to our Eden family.
As I peruse Canvas and Renweb/FACTS and take in the volume of learning that has already happened and see student work hanging in classrooms and hallways, and as I observe classes in session and the prowess of our faculty at cultivating student desires for what is good, true, and beautiful, I am overwhelmed by the gifts we have already received this school year.
We should not be surprised that the Lord has provided for us to be on campus uninterrupted and so meaningfully engaged in discipleship together day in and day out. Parents, students, teachers, staff, administrators, and board members all prayed for such a blessing, and our Father has graciously answered us. After our experiences last spring, such a blessing is something we no longer take for granted.
It is my prayer that we would all take this opportunity to praise Him for his goodness to us. These days may not look precisely how we would like them to, but perhaps we have been given fresh perspective on the treasure that is simply being together and sitting at Jesus’ feet to learn to desire, to think, and to act like Him!
Let’s enjoy this moment, Eden family. And let’s expect that whatever comes, God will be working that together for our blessing and His glory as well!
For Our Students for His Glory,
Paul Q. Fisher
Head of School

PARENT/STUDENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
October 29 & 30
At the end of this month, two days have been set aside for parent/student/teacher conferences. This is a tremendous opportunity to build and strengthen team relationships and talk about progress seen so far this year.
Parents, you may request phone or video conferences directly with your child’s teachers or through the school office.
While the days in October are marked for the purpose of conferences, parents are invited to schedule a conference with teachers at any time throughout the year.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Special Attention Students in Grades 11 & 12
This year's post high school exploration experience for college and careers may look different than years past, but there are still many opportunities to consider. I am available and eager to walk through the process with you just as I've done with previous Eden families over the last three years!
This year, for the safety and health of our students and families, we will not invite college representatives to visit us on-campus at lunch during the fall and winter. We will reevaluate in the spring to decide what is most appropriate and beneficial going forward. I will share virtual and in-person resources and opportunities in the weekly updates and I'm personally available to help you navigate the college and career process by phone, email, and in person as needed.
If you are a senior and applying to colleges, please keep in mind that our local PHEAA representative is Marian Hargrave and she can help your family complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which opens up October 1, 2020. Please check out STUDENTAID.GOV for additional information and feel free to reach out to Marian directly at 724.614.3823 or mhargrav@pheaa.org with individual questions.
Please contact me if I can be of assistance with transcripts, common application pieces, the FAFSA, or other questions you may have. I look forward to seeing where God leads the class of 2021!
