Special Meeting for Call Vote

Council President Christina Richmond announced that the Council on Tuesday approved the recommendation of the Ministry Review Team to call Pastor Deb Squires as fulltime Pastor with head of staff responsibilities. A congregational meeting is set for Sunday, Oct. 27 after worship to vote. Should the Call vote pass, a vote will be taken to approve a call process for a second pastor to work with and under Pastor Squires.

The Review Team analyzed input from ten focus groups, staff interviews and a congregation-wide survey. “It was apparent that there is a good and positive spirit in the congregation and much affirmation for the ministry of Pastor Deb Squires,” said Ministry Team Review leaders Jordan Stephens and Rick Rouse, Transition Facilitator.

The Council deeply appreciates the work of the Ministry Review Team which also included: Frank Foster, Ned Gebert, Jeff Hanson, Brian Hollingshead, Jim Hunt, Marko Jokinen, Suzy Oversvee, Connie Parchem, Christina Richmond, and Kyle Turner.

New Church Directory

We're updating our Directory of friends and members of Our Savior's. This will be a simple, printed directory produced in-house with photos and contact information – no formal portrait sittings, no sales of photo packages. Sundays after worship, you will find Curt Eidem and Alfons Behee taking photographs. Stop by, check your contact information and have a photo taken, or you may send a digital photo to the church office

“Our Neighbor’s Faith: Exploring other Faith Traditions”

11am Sunday, September 29.

Led by Paul Ingram, PLU Professor Emeritus.

Come explore different faith traditions and common threads in Christianity. We’ll also be discussing how the practice of interreligious dialogue with non-Christian religious Ways can deepen our own Christian faith as we open ourselves to the wisdom of Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, Jewish, and Islamic religious teachings and practices. The goal of interreligious dialogue is ‘creative transformation,’ the meaning of which we shall discover through our conversations.
