ENDURANCE SPEAKER SERIES FOR AUTUMN 2021-SPRING 2022
At a time when many wonder, ‘how am I going to get through this’, the Orcas Library seeks to share stories about endurance to help comfort, entertain, and inspire. Episodes will appear at irregular intervals over the series as ‘hybrid’ events with speakers appearing in person at the library as well as by Zoom meeting, unless stated otherwise. Read more...

Join us at the Village Green Friday, October 8, following the Homecoming Parade, 3:30-4 pm. The OIHS Pep Band will be playing and we'll be serving up Chef Zach's chili and hot cocoa. This event is made possible by OI Booster Memberships (THANK YOU). To become a member or renew your membership see: oiboosters.onuniverse.com/memberships. On Saturday, October 9, 11:30 am, we will be selling Viking gear and hamburger lunches (thanks to the Lower Tavern) just outside the OIHS track. And thanks to Orcas Golf, $1 of every Mini-Golf game will be donated to OIBC so check out the haunted decorations and support the Booster Club all in one stroke.

MEDICARE OPEN ENROLLMENT PRESENTATION BY ZOOM
Open enrollment for Medicare begins October 15 and ends December 7. The San Juan County SHIBA volunteers will be hosting two free Zoom presentations explaining what has changed for Medicare on October 14, 1-2:30 pm and October 19, 10-11:30 am. SUCCESSFUL SENIOR BBQ SERVES MANY 
On Thursday, September 23, the Nutrition Program partners—Orcas Senior Center, San Juan County, and Whatcom Council on Aging—hosted a “Drive Through Senior BBQ” for Orcas Island seniors at Orcas Senior Center (OSC).

UPDATED FALL HOURS FOR CLEVER COW CREAMERY
Starting on October 1, Clever Cow Creamery will be open Thursday through Sunday, 12-8 pm and closed Monday-Wednesday. We will also be CLOSED October 7-11.
ART AND MUSEUMS
WAFD ARTIST OF THE MONTH: SUSAN SLAPIN
"ECLECTIC" ART at Washington Federal will feature a colorful array of artwork created by Susan Slapin. Mediums will include pastels, acrylics, mixed media, and printmaking. The exhibit will run until October 29. Open Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm.
