From the Principal

If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Psalm 95

Hello Everyone!

Thank you to the many families who are carefully following our arrival and dismissal procedures each day. Your cooperation helps ensure that our students are safe and that the process runs smoothly for everyone.

When procedures are not followed, it creates serious safety risks for children and drivers.  It may also cause delays.  Our shared priority is the safety and well-being of every child. With your continued cooperation, we can keep arrival and dismissal safe and efficient for all.  NO ONE wants to see anyone hurt or cause an accident that they may regret for the rest of their lives.

Safe Practices

Unsafe Practices

Arrival

(Grades 4-8)

Pull into the fire lane and wait your turn to drop off; the first car should pull all the way up the blue cone.

Students should exit from the passenger side.

This is a drop and go line. If your student needs assistance getting out of the car, you should park in the front and walk them to the front door.

Moving out of the drop off line to pass other cars on the driver's side.

Arrival

(PreK)

Park in a parking space and walk your child to the entrance you are assigned.

Allowing children to run in the parking lot unattended by a parent.

Parking by the dumpsters.

Arrival

(Kindergarten-3rd)

Stay in the drop off line until you reach the spaces by the grass.

Allowing children to exit vehicles before the car gets to the spaces by the grass.

Moving out of the line before the line departs. Children may be walking between the cars.

Dismissal

(Back Parking Lot)

Enter the back lot and fill in the next available space. Follow Mr. Rick's directions for leaving the lot.

If you want to stay to use the West playground after school, park in the front and walk to the back to pick up your child. Your car cannot remain in the back parking lot.

Parking on Horner and Stratton and have children cross the street unattended. Drivers who are following the directions to pull into the lot are not expecting students to be darting across the street.

Parking in the back parking lot to use the playground.

All drivers should be using a safe speed and common sense

when children are in the vicinity.

On Friday, you may receive a Catholic school parent satisfaction survey directly from the Archdiocese. Please take a minute to respond.

Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for November 6. You will be receiving a separate email tomorrow with directions and a link to sign up for appointments.

Sunday, October 19 will be our first family mass. Mass is at 11:30.  Our 6th graders will be participating as readers, greeters, and bringing up the gifts.  All families are welcome and students who attend will earn an out of uniform pass.  A sign-in sheet will be located in the vestibule.

Have a wonderful week!

Ms. Booth
