The chill in the air has arrived and with it comes our last farm visit for 2026. We will be celebrating the end of another scenic, farm-tabulous year at Hooby’s with classic farm trucks and equipment, vistas, good friends, and breakfast treats!
Art & Ag Artists have been invited by the Stocking Family to roam the 40 acres of modern, mixed-use, farmland with classic working farm structures, agricultural machinery scattered across the property, expansive, open-air vistas with natural dirt paths, tree lines, and dirt fields. But also! This property has all our animal friends! Opportunities to sketch, paint, or photograph them up close, including sheep, goats, chickens, and the farm's resident pig.
The roots of Hooby’s Brewing go back to 1992, when the Stocking family purchased the historic Pardehsa Market at the corner of Highway 128 and Pleasants Valley Road. Originally a popular bait shop and gathering spot for local anglers heading toward Lake Berryessa, the property quickly became a home away from home for the family. From those early days on, you could almost always find the Stocking kids working around the market or picking fresh fruit straight from the surrounding orchards. Over countless hours spent on the land, the family affectionately took to calling the property “Hooby’s”—a nickname derived from nearby Hoobyar Lane that eventually inspired the brewery's name and created a lasting connection to their upbringing on the farm.
What started as an ongoing family joke about opening a brewery on "April 1st" eventually turned into Hooby’s Brewing. Curtis, Susie, Melanie, Chad, Courtney & Jackie Stocking and their "Brew Crew" have poured countless hours into creating a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. We are thrilled to be welcomed onto their property for this month's outing!
I'll see you on the farm! Jenna Harris Artist Engagement Director
