EXECUTION PHASE

Solar Panel Project at CRC
The CRC Solar Project is nearly complete, awaiting final inspection and ComEd authorization to activate the panels. Solar Panels are expected to be live in the next few weeks.

Community Recreation Center – Restoration Project

A contractor has been selected and will begin work on Community Recreation Center restoration this Winter. Completion of this project is anticipated in Spring 2026.

Hibbard Park OSLAD Project

Hibbard Park construction continues on the south baseball field, the contractor is finalizing the ECC Tot-Lot. A "soft opening" is scheduled for the first week in November for ECC families. The Tot-Lot will open to the general public in the next couple weeks.

U P D A T E S

BOARD UPDATE - Wilmette Park District is delighted to welcome Julie Adrianopoli as the newest member of the Board of Park Commissioners. Julie was selected from a highly qualified group of candidates to fill the vacancy left by a departing commissioner. The Wilmette Park District Board of Commissioners officially appointed Adrianopoli at its October 13, 2025, meeting. Her term will continue until the next election process in 2027.

President Patrick Lahey participated in the League of Women Voters’ State of the Village event on October 22 at Mallinckrodt, highlighting the District’s ongoing sustainability efforts, community partnerships and long-term planning initiatives. He emphasized the importance of maintaining aging facilities such as the Community Recreation Center and Centennial Complex, both of which have experienced major repairs in 2025.

RECREATION - Fall programming and community events have seen strong participation. October featured several seasonal favorites including Wicked Wilmette at Gillson Park with 403 registrants and over 100 day-of registrations, Spooky Skate at Centennial Ice Rinks, and a sold out Flow and Glow (yoga and sauna) collaborative event with Campfire Sauna at Lakeview Center.

FINANCE UPDATE - Board of Park Commissioners and Wilmette Park District staff continue to work collaboratively on the 2026 budget. During October meetings, Recreation and Golf Departments presented their proposed budgets and responded to questions from the Board as part of the ongoing budget review process.
