6 - Cross Country Runs with the Kids
The Churchill cross country team came out in the pouring rain early last  Sunday morning,  September 23rd, to donate their time to The Montgomery County Road Runner’s Club’s Cabin John Kids Runs. This event was free for all children from ages 1-17 to promote the joy of running to the next generation of runners. There was a 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, and 1 mile race. The Churchill Cross country runners served as rabbits to lead the way for the kids, as course marshals to guide the kids on the course, and helped with refreshments (including handing out gummy worms at the end of the races for all the finishers). This was an excellent service project and a great way to give back to the running community.
A little rain doesn't stop the Dawg runners! Thank you to Churchill Cross Country alum, Jim Witnah, who helped with the course layout.
Sophomore Perrin Myers helped organize the team and Junior Ted Lee served as the rabbit to help kids stay on the course.

A mix of Boys JV and Varsity players assisted Coach Studner and Settlement Ink last weekend by helping out at their company party at Aix La Chapelle in Poolesville. The boys served as sous chefs, welcomed guests at the front gate, directed cars for parking, served popcorn, set up and broke down tables, shuttled guests around the farm, and lended a helping hand wherever needed. Thanks, Gentlemen!
