Friends' Fall Book Sale
BOOK SALE: Saturday, October 20 through Sunday, October 28
MEMBER PREVIEW : Friday, October 19 from 6 - 8 PM

Our annual Friends of the Beverly Public Library Fall Book Sale takes place in the Sohier Room and Barnet Gallery at the main library and is open daily during regular library hours. There will be a huge selection of books for all ages!
Please Welcome Our New Bookmobile Librarian!
The library is pleased to announce that we have hired a new Bookmobile Librarian, Katie Marsh. Katie is learning to find her way around Beverly and she looks forward to bringing library service to all our Bookmobile patrons. For updates on when Bookmobile service will resume, please contact us at 978-921-6062 or check our website .
Special October Hours

Expanded weekend hours are here! Sunday hours at the main library (1 - 5 PM) will resume on Sunday, October 7. Saturday hours at the Farms branch (10 AM - 5 PM) will resume on Saturday, October 6. The Farms branch is always closed on Sundays. Expanded weekend hours will continue until Memorial Day 2019.

Additionally, both library locations will be closed on Monday, October 8 for the Columbus Day holiday.
“Monday Mornings” Fall Series
The Monday Mornings fall series is in full swing! Please join us at 9:30 AM for the program, doors open at 9 AM for refreshments.

All About eBooks: Meet Libby
On Tuesday, October 16 at 10 AM we'll teach you the basics of eBooks and digital audiobooks using OverDrive. Meet Libby and learn how to search for books and check them out with your personal device.

English Practice Group
Starting October 19, join us for weekly English practice groups for Adult English Language Learners of all levels. Fridays from 11 - 11:45 AM. No group on November 23.

Midterm Madness!
Our election season cinema series continues on October 12 at 1 PM with Mr. Smith Goes to Washington . Thanks to the Friends of the Beverly Public Library for sponsoring this program.

NaNoWriMo Write-Ins
Save the dates! We're excited to be hosting NaNoWriMo Write-Ins this November. What's NaNoWriMo ? It's National Novel Writing Month. You can write a novel with us on Sundays, November 4, 18 and 25 from 1 - 4:30 PM.

Summer Reading Art Gallery - Opening Celebration
Wednesday, October 2 from 6:30 - 8 PM
Celebrate the opening of an art exhibit by Beverly Middle School and Beverly High School students, featuring artistic creations that bring their summer reading experiences to life. Light refreshments included. Free, all are welcome!

Pizza & a Movie: Ready Player One
Thursday, October 4 from 3:30 - 6 PM
Join us for Ready Player One on the big screen...with free pizza! 

Teen Lego Build
Tuesday, October 9 from 3:30 - 4:30 PM
Stop by and build something AWESOME with our Legos. And yes...there will be snacks.

Hocus Pocus : The Interactive Movie!
Tuesday, October 30 from 3:30 - 5:30 PM
Join us for an interactive movie: Hocus Pocus ! Yell, dance, and play along with props as we watch the movie and eat snacks.

What’s the Big Idea?: Math and Science Story Time (for ages 4 - 6)
Tuesdays at 3:30 PM, October 2 - October 30
Based on the What’s the Big Idea? program created by Mother Goose Programs (Vermont Center for the Book) this story time incorporates math and science into a story time and activity.

LEGO Club (for preschool - grade 5)
Thursday, October 11 from 3:30 - 4:30 PM
Build spectacular LEGO structures that will be displayed in the Children’s Room. A drop-in program.

Musical Mornings with Miz Liz
Saturday, October 13 at 10 AM
A fun, interactive mix of children's sing-a-long music, movement and literature. Geared toward children aged 0-5 and their parents and caregivers. All are welcome. Thank you to the Friends of the Library for funding this program!

Science Squad (for grades 1 - 5)
Thursday, October 25 at 3:30 PM
Light is an important energy that moves in straight lines or rays unless something is in its way. Learn more about light as you experiment with light reflection and refraction!

Farms Branch Events
October A rt: “On the Right Track”
October 2 - 30
“On the Right Track” is a group of artists from the North Shore and beyond. The group meets weekly to paint and support each other in their chosen art form. This month’s show features paintings in a variety of styles and media. The group is sponsoring an “Artists' Reception” on Tuesday, October 23 from 6-8 PM. All are welcome.

From Farms to Gold: the History of Beverly Farms
October brings a special pop-up exhibit curated by Abby Battis from Historic Beverly . Enjoy Beverly Farms imagery and get a small glimpse into the heart of this dynamic Beverly neighborhood. This is an abbreviated version of the exhibit on view this past summer at Historic Beverly’s Cabot House.

The Gardens and Gardeners of Beverly Farms from the 1920s to the 1950s
Thursday, October 25 from 7 - 8:30 PM
Local historian Nancy Coffey will present an illustrated talk about the gardens and gardeners in our area. There will be an opportunity for the audience to share their garden memories at the conclusion of Nancy’s presentation. Join us for a fascinating look back at the people who contributed much beauty to our community.

Let’s have fun with the season that brings us pumpkins, colorful leaves and spooky stories. Join us for stories, crafts, and snacks that celebrate the season.
