Dear Beloved Community,

This Sunday I hope you will make plans to stay after worship for our Annual Congregational Meal and Meeting! So much Good News to share and dreams to dream. I feel God bringing forth bursts of new energy in the church’s life!

We are in Week 3, of our sermon series, Living a Legacy, walking with Moses toward the end of his journey and asking ourselves what it means to live a legacy of faith?

We’ll ask the question, “Whose face do we resemble?” Every church carries the faces and stories of those who came before us. We are shaped by them and we are shaping the church for those who come after us.

In Exodus 33, Moses longs for God to be present. In Matthew 22, Jesus looks at a coin and reminds us to think about whose image we bear.

*What would change if seeking God’s presence became

our first priority?

*How does our congregation reflect God’s presence in the community?

Hope to see you!

In hope and prayer,

Elizabeth

Sunday Adult Bible Study

(Meet in Parlor Sundays - 9:30am)

October Bible Study

Breaking The Code

starting Oct. 18th

By Bruce Metzger & David deSilva

The Book of Revelation contains passages of great beauty and comfort, as well as passages that strike the casual reader as bizarre, bewildering, and sometimes frightening. Regrettably, there are those who have misinterpreted a 1st century message, written for a believer’s movement in crisis, as a vengeful prophecy for the 21st century, where God and Jesus are violently involved with the destruction of the world, as we know it. There are those who have been duped by a bad End Times theology, and it’s time to fix that! Join us for a 6-session study of BREAKING THE CODE by Bruce Metzger & David deSilva. Join us as we reclaim a vision of God’s healing love for our world, where we don’t seek to revenge it or escape it, but seek to change it for the better. The Adult Bible Study group invites you to join us on Sundays at 9:30 am, October 18th - November 22nd.  (Participant guides for the study will be made available for $10. We will be using a dvd-prompted resource for our sessions, as well.)
