The monthly newsletter of the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network

October was a big month for trainings, with over 2,000 community members receiving training in either QPR, ASIST, or YMHFA. One of our goals for the fiscal year is training 1200 service providers, first responders, school based, counselors, military personnel, and healthcare providers; in the month of October alone we trained almost 1,400!

October was featured the introduction of our new Executive Director, Anna Sever. If you have not had an opportunity to introduce yourself please feel free to reach out to her at asever@tspn.org.

PS: The Annual Needs Assessment is still underway. If you haven't had a chance to fill it out here is the link: 2023 Suicide Prevention Needs Assessment

Sources of Strength is an evidence-based, best practice, youth suicide prevention program. It is designed to utilize the power of peer social networks as a catalyst for change in unhealthy norms and culture; ultimately preventing suicide, bullying, and substance abuse. Sources of Strength moves beyond a risk-focus and utilizes an upstream approach; mobilizing Peer Leaders to spread messages of Hope, Help, and Strength throughout their school and community.
