Chamber Changes

The Altavista Chamber of Commerce is disappointed to announce that Christy Lucy has resigned from the position of President. Due to unforeseen circumstances Christy had to make a decision that was best for her family. We wish Christy all the best.

Also leaving the Chamber at the end of October is Marie Mitchell. Marie has worked as the part-time public relations and events coordinator since 2014. Marie will be focusing on her career in real estate with Shortt Auction & Realty where she has been a licensed Realtor for 15 years.

During this time of transition in-coming Board Chair, Susan Hammack, will be volunteering her time in the office to help with upcoming events, memberships, sponsorships, and more. Longtime Chamber employee, Hank Frazier, will continue to manage the office. The office will be open on a reduced schedule during this transition time.

The search has already begun to find a new Chamber President and an Events Coordinator. If you have a recommendation for either position, please give Susan a call at the Chamber office, 369-6665, or direct them to visit our website for a link to the job description and resume submission process.
