John has been a parishioner at Saint Brigid of Kildare for 25 years. He is active in the Men's Spirituality Group and Music Ministry.  John says he "feels so blessed at this time to be actively involved with my parish and my Catholic faith. I am looking forward to getting to know more members of my St. Brigid family."

Welcome Nick Devinney, Facilities Assistant
Saint Brigid of Kildare Parish is excited to welcome Nick Devinney as our parish facilities assistant. Nick will aid the facilities team in the maintenance, cleaning, and care of our church, school, Hendricks Hall, and Brigid's Green.

Nick comes to Saint Brigid of Kildare from Terminix, where he spent 11 years working on pest control for their clients, including work on the Saint Brigid of Kildare buildings.

Nick is looking forward to using new skill sets here, learning new things and working on a wide variety of projects.

Welcome Jennifer McManus, Financial Administrative Assistant
The Saint Brigid of Kildare Religious Education program is excited to welcome Jennifer McManus as the financial administrative assistant. Jennifer will be working on preparing and reconciling financial reports, maintaining financial records, processing tuition and registration data and assisting the director on special projects as needed.

Jennifer has been a parishioner at Saint Brigid of Kildare since she moved here just over a year ago. She currently volunteers for the Religious Education Confirmation 7th and 8th grade program here.

Jennifer is looking forward to combining her finance and parish professional background, "I've always enjoyed working in finance, but love to be able to use my skills working for the Church. Everyone I have met has been so welcoming and helpful, I look forward to getting to know many more people at St. Brigid."

Jennifer lives with her husband, Matt, and their daughter, Aileen, who is in 7th grade and is in the Confirmation program here at St. Brigid.

I am so excited to direct VBS here as part of my new role.  I feel like any time we can plant the seeds of faith in the youth and associate positive memories with the Catholic Faith, we are helping to continue and grow the future Church."

Ministry Weekend - Thank You!
Gratitude is a flower that blooms in noble souls. -Pope Francis

We want to thank the hundreds of volunteers that made St. Brigid of Kildare's Ministry Weekend a huge success. We had a new set up that focused on different talents/gifts.   Our committee members helped parishioners identify their gifts. This led them to follow their passions and find what committees and ministries they can join that will help them serve our parish community.  We are so grateful for all the parishioners that choose to give so generously of their talents!

To get involved, please return a volunteer commitment card or use the "Guide to Parish Life" to contact the committees you are interested in being involved. We would not be the vibrant parish we are today without you.

SPiCE Family Fun Day - Thank You!

St. Brigid of Kildare hosted its annual SPiCE fundraiser and awareness event on Sunday, October 7 at Brigid's Green.

We had a great day as children of all ages played games, made crafts, and enjoyed a variety of specialty donuts from The Donut Experiment.

We would like to thank all the families that attended and donated to the SPiCE Family Fun Day. A special thank you to the parent volunteers who made the day run well.

Before We Were Yours at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's
Before We Were Yours  best-selling novelist Lisa Wingate --- is coming to Columbus on Thursday, November 1st for a great evening that will benefit the OB Clinic at Mount Carmel St. Ann's.
This special OB Clinic serves at-risk women who lack access to prenatal medical services. Without essential prenatal care, these moms are at a high risk to have babies that are born too early and too small. Prenatal care is so important when you realize that infant mortality currently claims the lives of three babies a week in Franklin County. That needs to change!

Please come out and do your part to support the Mount Carmel St. Ann's OB Clinic that can help these moms and babies.
While your ticket benefits this essential OB Clinic, you'll enjoy a night out complete with a selection of hearty hors d'oeuvres, desserts, and wine. Plus you'll take home a copy of Wingate's novel (which you can get signed - great gift to give!), and a swag bag filled with goodies from local businesses.

Tickets are available online until October 22 at https://www.mountcarmelfoundation.org/events/beforewewereyours

High School Youth Ministry

Lord, teach us to pray is a 9th-12th grade formation year focused on encountering Jesus in prayer. Our fall formation series, Altaration: The Mystery of the Mass Revealed, will explore what happens at Mass & why we do what we do. In this series, we will dispel myths about the mass and engage curiosities, gaining perspective to participate in the mass more fully. Later in the year, we will dive into scripture and grow in confidence and ability to read and apply scripture to daily life. We will also explore the why, when, what, where, & who of prayer, including exposure to various ways to pray with scripture, art, music, movement, Saints, and more.
Jesus is present among us every day in many ways. Have you heard Him? Have you seen Him? Have you encountered Him? Respond to these questions with us this year. Come encounter Christ together.
