Be the Magic this holiday season, adopt a family today.

Adopt A Family is here again, and with it your chance to make a difference in the lives of people like Keila, a single mom raising her three girls ages 3, 4, and 12, and her 14-year-old son.

There are many ways you can support the program: adopt a family outright, shop off of the Amazon Wish List, provide a monetary donation, or sponsor as an organization. And as always, spread the word!

Adoptions will be open until December 12, and the deadline to drop off the gifts is on December 15. We've brought back our Trenton drop-off site, so you can either bring your gifts to 235 White Horse Pike, Collingswood or 700 S. Clinton Avenue, Trenton.

Or you can bring them on 12/10 to the 2026 95.7 Ben FM Radiothon in Santa's Court at the Cherry Hill Mall! We'll be on-site from 6 am to 6 pm with Kristen Herrmann, rocking to holiday tunes and talking about the program. New this year will be fun on-site activities for the whole family to enjoy. Please join us!

Thank you to Mantua VFW Post 7679 Lawson-Cox for your Support of Home For The Brave!

On October 4, the Mantua VFW Post 7679 Lawson-Cox held their 8th annual 5K Running for Vets, and this year chose Home For The Brave to receive a portion of the proceeds. Participants came out on a chilly rainy morning to run the 5K or participate in the 1 mile walk to support our veterans. Thank you to the organizers and participants alike who made the day so special, and who made a meaningful donation to support the veterans in our shelter.

Shelter Staff Recognized for their

Extraordinary Commitment to Clients

VOADV was among the nearly 80 service providers recognized by the New Jersey Coalition to End Homelessness for the work we do to support the men, women, and families facing homelessness. The grant helped us celebrate the frontline men and women who day in and day out work to make others' lives a little better.

The staff at Anna Sample House, Eleanor Corbett House, Aletha R. Wright "Vision of Hope" Center, and Agape House were treated to new polos unique to the Supportive Services program, special snacks during training meetings, and a video of appreciation from Senator Cory Booker expressing the importance of the work that they do every day.

Advocacy Moment

Today VOADV was proud to support A.4897/S.4298, which would establish the New Jersey Holistic Representation Model in the Public Defender’s Office.

This model would pair Public Defenders with Client Services Specialists who would help connect individuals with housing, mental health care, substance use treatment, employment, education, transportation, and family supports.

Connecting individuals to services earlier results in greater stability for justice-involved individuals, increases public safety, and is a more effective use of public resources.

Vista Wealth Solutions Assembles

First Night Kits

At the end of September, Vista Wealth Solutions held their annual offsite staff training day. During the event, organizers wanted to incorporate the firm's updated Core Values, one of which is giving back. As a result, they chose to make 100 First Night kits, a combination of toiletries, shelf-stable snacks, and comfort items for adults and kids to receive upon entering one of our shelters.

We are so thankful that the team at Vista Wealth Solutions chose us as the recipient of their generosity. More than that, the organizers were so thoughtful about building a kit that would be truly meaningful to our clients.

The event was just another in a long history of Vista Wealth Solutions supporting the community by giving back. The firm has participated in Adopt A Family for the last 7 years, and recently awarded VOADV a $5,000 grant to use on behalf of our clients.
