Dear Parents and Families,

As I stated in last month’s Cougar Chronicle, our school-wide theme is HOPE. Ms. Pallas and Mrs. Sullivan presented their thoughts to the faculty at last week’s meeting.

Hope is a vital aspect of our experience and growth as human beings.

We are reminded that faith and hope often go together. “Faith provides a foundation for hope, motivating people to act on their faith.”

As educators, we begin each year with many hopes and dreams for our students. Through our faith, we know that God will give each of us what we need to be successful.

“May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

Ms. Pallas and Mrs. Sullivan thoughts exemplify our commitment to enrich your child’s spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social development. Our goal is to inspire every child to reach his/her fullest potential.

Peace,

Mrs. Sarpu

Mission Statement of Corpus Christi School

Corpus Christi School is a Catholic school rooted in the Gospel values of love and respect, where Jesus is present in the development of each child’s mind, body, and soul.

Corpus Christi School offers a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that develops the faith and character of each student.

October is the month traditionally dedicated to the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The students will conclude each day by praying the Memorare. The Memorare is a prayer that reminds us that we have a wonderful advocate and protector in the mother of our Lord, the Blessed Virgin Mary. In our prayers to her we honor and worship her Son, who is more than happy to listen to His mother’s pleas on our behalf. The Memorare invites us to ask the Blessed Mother for her assistance and her grace, especially when we feel most troubled in our daily lives.

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled

to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do

I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate,

despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Corpus Christi School Walk-A-Thon

We are excited to announce that this year's School-wide Walkathon will be held on Thursday, October 24th during the school day. This is a MAJOR fundraiser for the school and it's so easy to participate! Students ask family and friends to make a donation to sponsor them for the walk.  This is the EASIEST way to fulfill your fundraising obligation. EVERY dollar that you raise goes DIRECTLY to your fundraising commitment. You read that correctly - 100% of what your student raises will go towards your commitment!! This is the ONLY event in which that happens. Please download the sponsor form to track your student’s donations. We are looking for parent volunteers to help out from 8:15 – 10 A.M. on the day of the event. Please use the sign up genius link below if you are able to lend a hand. Thank you for your support of our great school!!

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

Just a quick note:

Please be aware that If I send your child home ill with fever or any other illness, I must abide by my Medical Director’s Protocols and follow them. This means your child’s MD cannot override Dr. Patel'ss orders and allow a child back in school before the proposed time. This is to keep everyone healthy and prevent the potential spread of illness to others. I plan to post the Protocols in the next few weeks in the Cougar Chronicle.

Two School field trips are occurring on October 1, 2024 for grades k-8. If your child has an Epipen, Inhaler or other medication that is prescribed and you have not brought it in yet, please do so in order for your child to go on the field trip. I am not allowed to give staff stock Epipens for the trip, so please provide to me as soon as possible with updated orders. This applies to inhalers as well. Staff will be required to call 911 if a reaction occurs and/or your child will not be allowed to attend the field trip.

Thank you,

Mrs. Cowan RN BS
