October 2020
With your support, we're taking small steps forward!

  • We were delighted to reopen our Koch Campus in Minnetonka and our Karlins Center in Plymouth in late September! These locations joined our Asplin and Bren sites which opened this summer. All are operating under limited capacities at this time. It has been fun to greet individuals with "Welcome Back" and "We Missed You" signs as they exited their vans! Even behind masks, we've seen many smiles.

  • Although our services have focused primarily on employment since reopening, we're starting to resume enrichment classes including some community activities. We are also continuing our popular virtual services. If you have questions about returning to services, please email [email protected] or leave a message at 952-938-5511.

  • Health and safety continue to be our top priority. You can see our COVID-19 preparedness plan on our OP web site at opportunities.orgWe're following all requirements for capacity, group sizes, face coverings, duration of shifts, health screening protocols, social distancing and other measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Thank you for your support!
Thank you for supporting our fall fundraiser & talent showcase!

Watch this touching thank you video with a song performed by staff member Ashley Kaufman. We are better together! Thank you so much for supporting our fall fundraiser, whether you made a gift, shared a talent, sponsored our Gala which was later cancelled, or told a friend about our campaign, YOU helped us reach nearly $300,000 in all. Didn't have a chance to give? It's not too late to donate today. Thank you for your generosity!
Staying safe and happy at home

Just when it seemed everything was coming to a halt with the pandemic, the caring support from OP's Residential teams shifted into high gear! Understandably, new health and safety protocols occupied much of our time at first. But as stay-at-home orders lifted, staff have organized fun surprises like an at-home "State Fair," manicure parties, arts and crafts, and drives to get take-out from favorite restaurants. "As difficult as this has been, COVID-19 has also brought out the very best in our hard-working, dedicated staff," said Aimee Barbeau, VP of Residential & Community Living.
Celebrating employment success!

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month! We'll be sharing stories of employment success on social media and our web site throughout the month to celebrate the many contributions of workers with disabilities and to thank our business partners for their support. If you have an employment story to share, email [email protected] today!
