Successful Skills Weekend for Nursing Students in Drumheller

On September 28 & 29, over 70 nursing students from Medicine Hat College, MHC Brooks Campus, and Red Deer College came to Drumheller for a Skills Weekend sponsored by the Rural Health Professions Action Plan (RhPAP), the Drumheller Standing Committee on Health, Drumheller & District Chamber of Commerce, and Alberta Health Services (AHS).  The weekend offers participants an interactive, skills-based introduction to working in rural Alberta as a health–care professional.

After the skills training, students were treated to dinner and a 'fun night' on Saturday, followed by a tour and activity on Sunday to showcase some of the great things that the valley has to offer. See more photos from the weekend on the RhPAP Facebook page !

Congratulations to RhPAP, AHS and the Drumheller Standing Committee on Health on a successful weekend, and thank you to all the businesses and individuals that sponsored or volunteered their time.
