Where has the time gone? After two years of work on the River Road-Santa Clara Neighborhood Plan, the Action Planning phase is wrapping up this fall! We would like to share the draft action plan at our November 13th community event.
The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) has been leading the way building a vision for the neighborhoods. You will have a chance to review their work at the community event and provide input on which draft actions are most important to you. The Action Planning phase involves identifying specific actions and programs the community wants to see, figuring out who is responsible for implementing and maintaining them, and how much they might cost in terms of money and time. The CAC, working group members, and technical experts have been working through all of this since the Spring and look forward to sharing their progress.
Current draft action items include everything from supporting local businesses, making safer streets for walking and biking, and—appropriate to the season—creating a local market that features the goods of neighborhood farmers and craftspeople. This event is an opportunity for anyone who lives, works, and plays in River Road and Santa Clara to participate in the planning process.
The purpose of this upcoming event is for all members of the community to come together to review the draft action plan while fostering a space to connect with others.
The event will be held on November 13th at North Eugene High School and will have an autumn harvest theme. Come out to enjoy food and entertainment as well as fun activities for the whole family. Whether new to the neighborhood or an already active member, everyone is encouraged to jump in and forge new connections, strengthen old ones and envision the future of the River Road and Santa Clara community!
