Have you heard about Facebook Fundraisers?

Now you can raise money for Exchange by creating your own fundraiser to celebrate your birthday or anniversary, or as a tribute. Here's how:

  • Create your fundraiser – Facebook will help you get started and give you tips to reach your goal.
  • Share the fundraiser with friends – connect friends to your fundraiser and gain supporters across Facebook.
  • Then ... Exchange gets donations when people donate to your fundraiser (in just a few clicks, without leaving Facebook).

#ExchangeFits is our way of explaining Exchange's place in our lives ... it just "fits" in so many ways!

Every day, you have an opportunity to share Exchange - just by doing what you normally do! Everywhere you go presents an opportunity to share Exchange with others: at the gym, the park, the grocery store, the salon, the golf course - simply because we enjoy talking about what makes us happy! So, go ahead and talk Exchange wherever you are ... and be sure to share your experiences on social media with the hashtag.

Raising Funds to House Homeless American Veterans!

Hopefully, your Exchange Club has begun planning its "11/11@7" event to raise funds for housing America's homeless veterans! Exchange is proud and excited to be in this 5th year of partnership with  Veterans Matter  and we know Exchange Clubs across the country continue to embrace the collaboration, as well!

A quick message from Ken Leslie, Advocate in Chief, Veterans Matter:

Hey, fellow Exchange Club members!

This has been one incredible year for the partnership that has grown leaps and bounds between The National Exchange Club and Veterans Matter!

Exchange Clubs across the nation have shown their compassion for our nation's heroes by making sure that our unhoused heroes have a safe, warm place to call home this winter! Last year, 30 Exchange Clubs came together and helped Veterans Matter to house 50 veterans and their families! With this year's 11/11@7 Rallies - that number is going to increase.

We are eternally appreciative of the great opportunity that we, as Exchange Club members, have had placed in our path! Not only has it been impressive to see how many clubs have felt the call to help our nation's unhoused heroes, but we here at Veterans Matter have become part of The National Exchange Club network and we couldn't be any more proud of that fact!

Following your club's 11/11@7, be sure to send pictures with captions, and event details, to  commun@NationalExchangeClub.org . We'll share them with your fellow club members throughout the country!

To help them stay efficient and organized, Exchange Clubs are being asked to send all funds raised for Veterans Matter directly to the National Exchange Club Foundation. The NEC Foundation will track the donations and quickly forward the funds to Veterans Matter to award the top earning clubs! Please mail your Exchange Club's check to the "NEC Foundation 3050 W. Central Ave. Toledo, OH 43606", denoting "Veterans Matter" as the recipient.

What is Giving Tuesday?

We have a day for giving thanks.
We have two for getting deals.

AND, we have #GivingTuesday, a day dedicated to giving back.

On Tuesday, December 3, 2019, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give!

Join your fellow members across the country as they participate in Giving Tuesday by supporting Exchange through this annual #GivingExchange event!
November is National Adoption Month

For more than two decades, National Adoption Month has been promoted and celebrated every November in communities across the country. Many national, state, and local agencies, as well as foster, kinship care, and adoptive family groups, share awareness through programs, events, and activities on behalf of thousands of children and youth in foster care awaiting permanent, loving families.

If you are unfamiliar with the system of adoption, November is a great time to learn more about this important work. Exchange Clubs might consider supporting the work of local agencies and/or inviting a guest speaker to a meeting. National organizations to consider include:

New opportunities for Exchange Clubs, Collegiate Clubs, Excel Clubs, and members to better their communities are always upon us.

Here are a few suggestions to help generate project ideas:

November:
November is One Nation Under God Month. Get involved by sponsoring a One Nation Under God breakfast in the community!

December:
This is a month of celebration and giving back! To participate, clubs and members could:
  • Provide holiday dinner baskets to local prevention center families.
  • Donate Christmas gifts to local day care centers.
  • Sponsor a holiday party at a senior center or nursing home.

January:
Clubs and members may consider:
  • Visiting a nursing home and reading a book with the residents, talking about topics in the news, playing cards, and bringing joy into their lives!
  • Offering your skills rather than goods. Offer to repaint a community playground, rake leaves, or shovel the snow of a neighbor who is unable to so.
  • Plan ahead for February, National Community Service Month.

Share pictures of your club at work with National Headquarters:  commun@NationalExchangeClub.org  and
share on social media with #ExchangeStrong and #ExchangeFits!
