Intellivega

Economic Impact: Business Expansion | Owners Investment | Increase in Sales | 8 Jobs Retained | 1 Job Created

Intellivega is a software solutions provider with a focus on data analysis solutions, founded by Robert and Jonathan Johnson (JJ), who are proud supporters and long-term clients of the ASU SBDC. The company provides unique business intelligence solutions to a variety of industries in the global market.

In 2023, Robert and JJ had a big idea: to bring big business data solutions to small businesses in the San Angelo economy. They visited the ASU SBDC for assistance in preparation for this expansion and were paired with James Leavelle, a perfect fit for this dynamic data duo. James worked with Robert and JJ on their business plan, which prepared them for success and led to an expansion in their clientele, an increase in annual sales, and the need to hire two additional employees to help them meet their clients’ needs.

As the company grew, Robert identified an opportunity to expand Intellivega’s services by offering web hosting solutions to meet the increasing demand for online presence among local businesses. To ensure a smooth transition into this new service area, Robert partnered again with the ASU SBDC and was paired with Certified Business Advisor Kate Polk. Kate provided education and guidance throughout the process, helping Robert understand the regulatory requirements for this taxable service. She walked Robert through the sales tax permit application process step by step, clarifying details and ensuring compliance. Additionally, Kate provided valuable information regarding talent acquisition strategies to help Intellivega keep pace with its growing business needs.

With Kate’s assistance, Intellivega successfully obtained its sales tax permit and launched web hosting services, strengthening its competitive edge to result in an increase in sales. Today, Intellivega continues to grow as a trusted technology partner, committed to helping businesses thrive through exceptional technology solutions.
