"Nights in The Ville" Back by Popular Demand! Thurs, Oct. 7
STC invites you to join a bonus evening of “Nights in The Ville” for School Spirit Night, benefiting the SRS Home & School Assoc. On Thursday, October 7 from 5:00–9:00 pm, Park Avenue will be closed to traffic from Chester Rd. to Dartmouth Ave. Local restaurants will be open for business with both indoor and outdoor seating in the parklets. Tables will be placed throughout the block for first-come-first-served seating. Place a takeout order, BYOB, and enjoy dinner at any one of our community 4 and 6-top tables & chairs.

Gallery on Park - Little Crum Creek Art Exhibit Opening
Saturday,10/2 from 2:00-4:00, Gallery on Park will present the plein air work created in Swarthmore's own Little Crum Creek Park. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Friends of Little Crum Creek Park who cares for and maintains this beautiful gem of a park. Meet the artists at an opening reception, view their work and enjoy complimentary light refreshments. Art is available for purchase.
Fundraiser for Refugees at the Farmers Market on Sat, Oct. 2
STC is co-sponsoring a fundraiser at the Swarthmore Farmers Market on October 2 to support the newest immigrants from Afghanistan. This event is being coordinated by STC volunteers Barbie Pinakidis and Angie Tseng. We will be collecting monetary donations to the Nationalities Service Center, which is on the frontline of helping the Afghan refugees in our area. Join us in the amphitheater for free snacks and games for kids, to learn about the NSC, and take part in discussions reflecting our families’ immigration stories and learn how we can support the newest immigrants from Afghanistan. You can bring your donations to our table, and can learn more or donate here. Thank you for your support!

Paws for People is back! Read one-on-one to a therapy dog! On the first and third Thursday of each month, children in Kindergarten or above, can practice reading to the best listener – a dog! Therapy dog teams will be at the library to listen to beginning and reluctant readers read a book of their choice. This is also an ideal opportunity for English language learners. Registration is required. Each child will get 10 minutes to read a book of their choice to one of the therapy dogs. Masks are required.
