Las Promotoras Against Violence is produced by our partner and film director, Juan Escobedo, and features the courageous women of ELAWC’s pioneering Promotora program—survivors who have turned their trauma into a powerful force for healing and change.


By meeting women where they are—in their homes, families, and daily lives—Promotoras foster meaningful connections, educate, and inspire life-changing choices. Their impact is profound, and their stories will move and motivate you.

Each October ELAWC observes Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). Created in 1987, DVAM connects communities across the nation to advocate for peace, honor survivors, and remember lives lost to domestic violence and intimate partner violence.
