What is it about Halloween that still scares us? We're rational adults (at least most of us), and we know that "Michael Myers" is just a character in a movie. We know that we could walk thru a cemetery at midnight on Halloween and not be frightened. Or could we?  Many holidays harken back to the sunny days of our childhood, but this is one that recalls the fear the screams of the unknown of what lies just around the corner that never goes away, no matter how old or how rational we are. Enjoy the movies, and don't be SCARED!!!

Agricultural Reserve Workshop
October 26th, 2021
RECLAIM THE AGRICULTURAL RESERVE

It has been said that the unique nature of the Agricultural Reserve has been killed by a thousand cuts. It's now time to reclaim the unique and natural beauty of our Reserve. A workshop was held on Tuesday, October 26 to review and discuss future plans for the remaining approximately 12,000 acres of available land.

County staff presented over 100 slides in their presentation that demonstrated that the original policy behind the Agricultural Reserve had lost its effectiveness. At a marathon county commission meeting, dozens of stakeholders made their opinions heard. The overwhelming consensus was that it was now time for action.

On November 3, the commission will consider options to ensure that the balance of the Agricultural Reserve is designed in a fashion that will benefit its residents and the people of Palm Beach County.

Dear Commissioner,
I live in the Ag Reserve with my husband and three school-age children. I'm always driving them to parks to play with their friends. When are we going to have a park closer to us?

It is true, we do not have enough shaded playgrounds for school children. This is one of the most important issues we are discussing in the workshop.
