Research is an endless quest. That’s why it has always fascinated Georgios Kotsakis.

“It’s a constant process of evolution, understanding, and discovery,” said Kotsakis, RSDM's new assistant dean for clinical research and director of research. “That's very gratifying."
Advanced Programs

RSDM offers advanced dental education programs in endodontics, general practice residency, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orofacial pain, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and prosthodontics.

Five residents from five programs tell us why they chose their specialties and RSDM.
Excellence

Orientation is a time to make new friends. But among the crowd of new faces, Brianna Rozell recognized a familiar one. Across from her was Mehnoor Khan, a friend from her hometown in Staten Island. The two had attended elementary school and high school together. Their paths yet again crossed at dental school.
Remembering

RSDM’s Delta Dental of New Jersey Special Care Treatment Center was established in 1994, with the efforts of two dentist partners, Robert Kroll and Justin Stone. RSDM mourns the loss of Kroll, who passed away on Sept. 19. He was 99.
Shout-Outs
The RSDM Community Oriented Dental Education (CODE) program is now in its 29th year and continues to promote its critical central mission of expanding the knowledge, skills, and abilities of dental students while delivering care to the underserved.
Triple congratulations to Professor of Diagnostic Sciences Mahnaz Fatahzadeh! She has been appointed to the American Board of Oral Medicine, has been named as the chair of the Organization for Teachers of Oral Diagnosis, and is the newest president of the Essex Country Dental Society for 2023-24.
