The latest news from UNC Greensboro's University Libraries

A Message from Amy Harris Houk, Interim Dean

Fall is finally in the air, and cooler temperatures setting in means we are getting closer to the end of the tower portion of the Main Library renovation. Over the past month, the tower has been changing rapidly. Now that the majority of the infrastructure work has been completed, windows and tiles are being installed, and it is becoming easier to envision the finished renovated space. In the past two weeks, glass was installed in the new openings on floors 4, 6, and 8 of the tower and the glass enclosing the Perch will be installed in the next two weeks. Meanwhile, on the other side of the building, we remain busy, helping students, faculty, and staff with research and circulating books and technology, while also preparing for our move to the tower in the spring. We can’t wait for everyone to see our beautiful, newly renovated spaces in March 2027.

Have you ever wondered what supporting a particular fund in the University Libraries does? In this issue of Library Columns, we're highlighting our newest fund: the University Libraries Teaching and Learning Fund. This fund was created to purchase equipment and create collateral to promote library instruction and information literacy. Since there's a librarian for every major at UNCG, supporting this fund with a gift of any size helps every student.
