Caloosahatchee Mindfulness

Dear friends,

Things are changing. The autumn equinox was last month, and this month we are beginning to see a bit less humidity. The sun is rising later and setting sooner as the Earth turns away from it. We look forward to some of these changes, like cooler temperatures, and are unhappy with others, such as the approaching time change. The earth is a patient teacher, reminding us again and again, "Impermanence." Instead of fighting change, we can take a breath and hold the present moment. Just for today. Just for this moment. Let the past go. Do not look to the future. Just be with the change.

Much Metta,

Maggie

Caloosahatchee Mindfulness will hold an in-person and online sitting meditation session on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. Beginners and experienced meditators are welcome. The session will include sitting and walking meditation, followed by a post-meditation discussion. Chairs and cushions are provided. A dana (offering) of $5 is requested to help defray the cost of space rental.

The next sessions will be on October 6 and 20, 2025, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. It will be held at the Lotus Blossom Clinic, 6710 Winkler Rd #2, Fort Myers, (corner of Winkler & Cypress Lake Drive)

Walking Meditation

Walking in nature is a way to bring awareness to the present moment and all the beauty surrounding you, and can be a form of walking meditation. Thich Nhat Hanh says that the practice of mindful walking is a profound and pleasurable way to deepen our connection with our body and the earth.

We welcome you to join us at Lakes Park for Mindful Walking on the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 - 9:30 am. We meet at 8:45 am at Lakes Park. Turn right when entering the park and drive to the end of the parking lot. The community garden will be straight ahead. We gather there and walk through the garden area where bikes are not allowed.

Lakes Park has some shade and restrooms. Be sure to bring sun protection and water. There is a parking charge. This is a free offering through Caloosahatchee Mindfulness. Guests are welcome.
