Director's Corner

Wow! October is a busy month! We are looking forward to a lot of fun! First of all, our classes will start Yoga with Kathryn in October - and that will continue every month for the year. It is so much fun, but also so good for our kiddos to stretch their bodies and learning to take some good calming breaths!

Second, our annual Meet Greet and Eat Event is our version of an Open House! This tradition has been going on for many years, and it is a fun way for folks to gather together and for kids to show family members their classrooms, share some dinner, and get to know other folks in your class. Be sure to sign up for this tradition!

Bonus! Our friends at the Monona Public Library will be here with their famous Book Bike to sign up kids for library cards and have books to check out! AND to add even more fun, our amazing Fundraising team has added a Roll and Stroll right beforehand to take a quick and easy walk through the neighborhood!

Sunday, October 5th at 2:00 PM!

This event is getting bigger and more fun every day - great prizes, tons of support from our neighbors down at the Musky, and a great way to spend some adult time on a Sunday afternoon with friends from your kiddos class, our board and our staff, all while supporting the school! Details below!

Announcements from our Staff

A reminder! Our new cubby room is lovely and also crowded! Please take everything that you bring to school home each day - remember that we are storing your extra clothes! We have recently added a basket for each kiddo sharing a cubby on a given day. So be sure to help your kiddo find their basket for mittens, hats, backpacks, etc. Please use the hook on the side of the cubby with your kiddo's name! Coming soon! Boot rug for each class.

Remember to label your kiddo's clothes for school! If you would like, we have a fundraiser with Oliver's Labels – a super durable label company!

Remember to dress for the weather -we go outside!! Also remember to replenish your kiddos extra clothes bag if they need to change while at school!

Don't Forget! October 8 & 9 are school picture days! In order to take your kid's picture (which is totally optional), our photographer needs this form we sent home and a check made out to Family Tree Photography.

We Came to Play! at the Musky

Sunday, October 5th at 2:00 PM!

We are gearing up for some BIG fun....for the grown ups!!! To help fund our recent renovations, we are hosting a FUN-draiser event doing what we’ve always loved and done best: PLAY! Join us for this event featuring raffles, a shuffleboard tournament, giveaways, and more. All to benefit the biggest moment in MGNS’s 68-year history: our move to our new location at 4019 Hegg Ave! This is an all-alumni-and-friends-need-to-join-the-party event so spread the word, all are welcome! Big thanks to our host, the MUSKY, where we know the good times always roll. Thank You for Dining Out with MGNS!

A huge shoutout to everyone who joined us for last month’s Dine Out events—your support made a real impact! Together, we raised $369 at Ian’s Pizza and $196 at the Chocolate Shoppe. We’re so grateful to everyone who came out, enjoyed some tasty treats, and helped support our school!

Butter Braid Pickup Reminder

Mark your calendars: Butter Braid orders will be ready for pickup on October 9th from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM in the Toddler Time room (enter through purple door, head upstairs and then right down the half flight to TT room!). Thank you to ALL of our great sellers! We raised $1500 for our school!

Roll & Stroll: A New Way to Connect!

Join us on October 10th for our brand-new Roll & Stroll event—a short walk through the neighborhood that even passes by the old MGNS building! It’s a great way to get moving and mingle with friends before heading to the Meet, Greet & Eat for delicious pizza and good company.

Waypoint Public House Dine Out Night

Mark your calendars for a delicious way to support MGNS! Join us on Monday, November 4th at Waypoint Public House for our next Dine Out for MGNS event. Whether you stop by for lunch with a coworker or enjoy dinner with family, MGNS will receive a portion of the day’s proceeds—all day long, from open to close!

We are excited to announce our annual Meet Greet and Eat that will follow our Roll and Stroll Fundraiser on Friday, October 10.

Stroll and Roll will start at 4:30 PM
Meet Greet and Eat will follow from 5 to 7 PM

The Roll and Stroll is a family friendly fun 1 mile walk, run, bike, stroller, scooter, etc. to help raise money that will go towards paying off our new school renovation projects. This is open to all current and alumni MGNS families.

Meet Greet and Eat is an annual event that we at MGNS love! This is when all of our families, and their extended families, join us to have a pizza dinner, and play in our NEW classrooms, and on the NEW playground! Our staff and teachers will all be there!
