OCTOBER 2026

In October, the air turns crisp, leaves change and the spirit of the season invites us to reflect and rejuvenate. This month, we’re sharing insights and resources that support you, our valued clients and friends. October is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month, an issue that deserves attention and advocacy this month and all year long.

Family Law: Addressing Common Visitation

Disputes in Florida

Visitation disputes can be emotionally taxing and legally complex, especially when the welfare of children is involved. The attorneys at Kantaras Law can help familiarize you with these laws and can greatly aid in resolving these disputes amicably. Learn more HERE.

Immigration Law: What are Continuances

The Connection Between Domestic Violence and Family Law

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and while the conversation often starts with safety, it doesn’t always end there. It moves into courtrooms, custody hearings and difficult legal decisions.

Dean and Stephanie explain what protections exist under Florida law and what someone should do if they or someone they love needs help.

One Woman's Domestic Struggle Now Helps Others

IgniteHer was born from one woman’s escape — but it was never meant to stop there. Today, IgniteHer is a movement for every woman who’s ever whispered “Am I in an abusive relationship?” or “I need a way out” and didn’t know where to turn.

IginteHer's founder, advocate Tiffiny Newton, gives the Kantaras Law community a candid look at what domestic violence really looks like (not always what you think) and what she is doing about it. Read more HERE.

Employee Spotlight

This month we are shining the spotlight on Kantaras Law Billing Lead, Ashley Negron. She's been at the firm for 2.5 years and manages client accounts while working closely with the legal teams and clients to help prepare them for events. She oversees invoicing, assists management with billing disputes and client concerns, and supports collections and account management.

Fun fact about Ashley: two of her poems were published in a young poets book in New Jersey when she was young. One of her dreams is to own an animal farm because she loves animals. In her free time, Ashley is with her family and two dogs, Ellie and Little Bear (see picture) or cooking and baking for family and friends!
