Hamilton Medical Inc. has issued a Class 1 recall for its Hamilton-C1, C2, C3, and T1 ventilators due to software issues that can lead to abrupt ventilator stoppages without warning. These ventilators are crucial for providing mechanical breathing support, especially during patient transport within hospitals. While there have been no reported injuries or deaths related to the recall, affected individuals, including healthcare providers, may have product liability claims against the manufacturer for the software problem, which could be a design or manufacturing defect.
