West Shore Blvd Complete Streets public engagement open
Hillsborough County has opened the public engagement period for the West Shore Blvd. Complete Streets project. Learn more and provide your comments here. The proposed plan would add pedestrian and streetscape elements to create a grand boulevard from Spruce St. to Kennedy Blvd. The project was inspired by the Westshore Alliance's Public Realm Master Plan.  County staff have been working with business & property owners, residents and Westshore Alliance members to design a plan that improves West Shore Blvd. and provides for additional development opportunities. Visit the project page to comment on the plan before October 15.

Visit the project page for more information.
Westshore interchange operational improvements finished; Tampa Interstate Study SEIS approved
The Florida Department of Transportation completed the Westshore Interchange operational improvements by adding a new lane on northbound I-275, a new exit lane from northbound I-275 to Kennedy Blvd. and lengthening the merge area from SR 60 to I-275. The $31 million project was done ahead of schedule. It will serve as an interim improvement for the future Westshore Interchange reconstruction. That project was approved on Sept. 15 by the Federal Highway Administration as part of the Tampa Interstate Study (TIS) Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS). Construction is expected to begin in 2024 and include the full reconstruction of the Westshore Interchange, tolled express lanes, and operational improvements for the Downtown Tampa Interchange.
