Hurricane Helene response & survey

On behalf of our members and Board of Directors, the Westshore Alliance extends our condolences and sympathies to those who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene.

When you are able, we ask you to take the Westshore Alliance survey here to help analyze the impact of the storm among the business community, and in the Westshore District. Depending on the location of your home and/or business, please fill out the City of Tampa and Hillsborough County damage assessments.

Visit DisasterAssistance.gov for family and business relief services, and the Florida Department of Commerce for business loan information. FEMA has opened a center in Hillsborough County for residents and business owners. To contribute to local support efforts, we encourage you to contribute to United Way Suncoast, Feed ing Tampa Bay, and the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay.

Thanks to our first responders for their service across the Tampa Bay area, and to the crews at Tampa Electric (TECO) for their prompt service in Tampa and Hillsborough County.

Westshore Alliance FOR the Community Investment Tax

The Westshore Alliance wants you to be FOR the Community Investment Tax (CIT) renewal on your 2024 ballot. Mail ballots will be mailed this week, and early voting starts October 21.

The 15-year renewal of the CIT will maintain the Hillsborough sales tax rate until 2041, and provide much needed funding for transportation, public safety, and local projects. More than 40% of the funding ($1.5 billion) is planned for transportation projects in Hillsborough County and the Cities of Tampa, Plant City, and Temple Terrace. Public safety projects are set to receive 23% of funds ($880 million), including new fire stations, law enforcement facilities, and vehicles.
