Summer Wrap Up
This by far was one of our busiest summers in Baja...here are just a few of the highlights!
Strong Tower Ministries and Young Life Adventures Baja partnered for the 5th year of hosting summer discipleship youth camps. For three consecutive weeks, over 125 high school/college age young people spent 6 days and 5 nights in Valle De Guadalupe experiencing Baja and engaging in various service opportunities. Strong Tower Ministries joined with several of our ministry partners which resulted in:
- A week's worth of groceries delivered during 90-100 family home visits, 300 families receiving free water, and over 750 meals to parents/children at the after school lunch program to Life in the Canyon residents living in Tijuana.
- Over 750 meals provided to 50 "in transition" families being given temporary shelter at the Agape Mundial Church in Tijuana.
- Over 1,350 meals prepared and served to the staff and children at the Door of Faith Orphanage. Other activities such as horseback riding, offsite swimming pool rentals, onsite crafts and games with the children allowed for some great interaction with the children.
- A $20,000 house build project was completed for the Mendez family living in Valle De Guadalupe. VIEW VIDEO:
HOUSE BUILDS
All year round we offer house build opportunities ranging from $3,000 - $12,000 homes for families. This summer, groups like this one from Mountain View Church, Ramona, CA spent a day building a house for a family just minutes from the border. The house was completed start-to-finish in just one day, providing a family with no where to live with place to call their own. These projects are not just about four walls and a roof, but bringing a message of God's love, security, and provision to others.
Casa De Mana Campus hosted several weekend summit and retreat events. A Pastor's conference, media group, men's group, and social justice summit were all hosted during the summer at the campus as construction continues. We invite you to be a part of this project all year round by either scheduling your service or retreat trip with us or offering to pitch in with some construction help.
