Why Change your furnace filter?
By: Katey Gallagher / Owner
Feature Heading
Here is our recommendation on the frequency for changing your filter:

1″ Filters – Monthly
2″ Filters – Bimonthly
3″, 4″, and 5″ Filters – Every 4 to 6 months

When in doubt, swap it out!
How do you remember to change it?
You can get a thermostat that will remind you. I personally use my calendar in my phone to remind me. Just make sure you do it! It's something so simple to maintain that, if neglected, can cause you thousands of dollars in the long run!
We sell filters!
To make things easier we can bring filters your system takes to your home when we do your VIP tune up or you can stop by and pick them up at our office at: 9114 Cincinnati Columbus Road, West Chester, Ohio 45069
Since your furnace is what moves the air during heating AND cooling season throughout your home, a dirty air filter can stop that air from moving. What happens is the fan inside your furnace/airhandler can’t pull air it needs from your duct work causing it has to work harder than it should. A good example of this is clothes dryer! If you don't clean the filter on your dryer it can’t get enough air to dry your cloths and may break. Can you imagine not changing that filter? Well, your furnace filter is equally as important because a dirty furnace filter can cause:
It will cost you more money to operate your system because it has to work harder to satisfy your thermostat settings
Your home will become dirtier because the filter is full and can’t catch the dirt, so it sends it back into your home.

Wickedly Good Appetizers to Get Your Halloween Party Started!
There's no better way to get into the spooky holiday spirit than by serving up some ghoulish Halloween appetizers.
Skully Guacamole!

To make your skull you’ll want to cut the avocado in half. (It’s easier to work with one flat side.) Start by turning the skull so the big side is at the top with the little side at the bottom. Create the teeth first by gently cutting through the avocado peel but not all the way through the pulp. Using a sharp pairing knife make little notches for the teeth. Move onto the nose, cutting all the way through. The nose is shaped like an upside down heart shape. Finally the eyes: cut all the way through for two big round holes for the eyes. Now you can put the avocado back together with the other half…the half that has the avocado pit still attached.

Quick and Easy Guacamole Recipe
This recipe make about 2 1/2 cups.

You will need:
  • 3 medium avocados or 4 small ones;
  • 1 firm tomato, finely diced;
  • 1/2 white onion;
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro;
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon or lime juice;
  • Optional salt and pepper to taste.
Preparation
  1. Open the avocados and scoop out the flesh. An easy way is to cut it length-wise around the pit and than using a chefs knife strike the pit and then twist the knife so you can easily remove the pit and scoop out the flesh.
  2. AppetMash the flesh with a fork, it can still have hard parts, follow your preference.
  3. Stir the other ingredients.
  4. Enjoy right away or store in the refrigerator. A trick is to put a plastic wrap that touches the guacamole so it doesn’t brown because of contact with air.
Try not to eat it all right away and keep some for your guests or family!
Skeleton Bone Appetizer!

This is such a quick and easy appetizer! You will only need 2 ingredients to make your own Skeleton Bone appetizer, cream cheese and pepper jelly.

To make your bone you will want your cream cheese at room temperature (will be easier to mold your bone) After you mold your bone you will want to put it in the fridge until you're ready to serve. Then gently like flipping a cake put your bone on the pepper jelly and serve with crackers for eating. Your guest will love this simple and yummy appetizer!
