Last month, representatives from the CEO Water Mandate and Water Resilience Coalition joined leaders from across sectors in New York City for the 80th UN General Assembly and Climate Week.
As water resilience continues to emerge as a core element of business strategy, these convenings catalyzed stronger corporate alignment and commitment—turning dialogue into tangible pathways for collective action. The gatherings also featured the launch of the new Basin Monitoring Platform, a key tool to help track progress toward shared water goals.

This week’s California Water Resilience Forum was a powerful reminder of what collaboration can achieve.
As managing organization of the California Water Resilience Initiative (CWRI), the Pacific Institute helped convene partners from across sectors who are turning ideas into measurable progress for California’s water future. From innovative reuse projects to new corporate commitments, the Forum highlighted how collective action is driving real results across the state.
Today, CWRI is tracking 70 projects delivering benefits for communities, businesses, and ecosystems — and the momentum continues to grow.

In 2014, California faced a historic drought. Reservoirs were depleted, farms were fallowed, and communities lost access to safe drinking water.
Out of this crisis, the California Water Action Collaborative (CWAC) was born — uniting companies, NGOs, and farmers to take action together.

Pacific Institute Research Specialist Dr. Emilio Mateo co-authored a new study, “Climate Information Use in Transportation Planning: A Survey of Metropolitan Planning Organizations,” published on ScienceDirect.
The research finds that transportation planners were early adopters of climate information and continue to use and value a variety of data types. However, barriers such as limited experience, accessibility, and relevancy persist. The study highlights the need for tools that help assess tradeoffs and future scenarios, as well as education programs to expand the effective use of climate information in planning.

Their session will focus on “How Laws and Policies Help Anticipate and Manage Climate Change Impacts on WASH Infrastructure and Services in High-Income Countries." This annual conference convenes global policymakers, practitioners, and researchers to advance safe, affordable, and sustainable WASH services that protect public health and promote climate resilience.

The event, "Stormwater Capture and Use: Turning Local Stormwater Successes into Solutions for California’s Water Future" will focus on how California can better capture and use urban stormwater.

The Pacific Institute was honored to join our partners at CSRBOX for the inaugural India Water & Rivers Forum (IWRF) 2025, co-hosted by The Godavari Initiative.
During the event, Pacific Institute President and CEO — and Head of the CEO Water Mandate — Jason Morrison met with Shri Nitin Khade, Joint Secretary (Watershed Management), DoLR, to explore opportunities for public-private collaboration in watershed management under the WDC–PMKSY Scheme.
The forum marked a major step forward in advancing basin-wide water resilience and strengthening pathways for net-positive water impact across India.
