OCTOBER NEWS
October / 7 / 2019
Dear Forest Hills Family and Friends,

Last month was full of activity for Forest Hills! Our 27th Annual Golf Tournament, held on September 9th, was a huge success and we want to send out a big thank you to everyone who participated! Whether you were able to attend in person or support us from afar, we see you and are grateful for your contributions.

We had another special event last month, hosted in collaboration with The Kennedy Center, and we welcomed community members for art-making sessions at Forest Hills. It was a beautiful way for us to get together and put our creative brains to work!

On Saturday we hosted the Senior Wellness Health Fair, offering flu vaccines, balance testing, blood pressure screens, healthy eating tips, and much more. It was great to spend time with our neighbors and learn more about each other!

Coming up this month we are looking forward to more wonderful Life Enrichment programs from our stellar Life Enrichment team, now led by our very own Claudia Campusano. We are thrilled to have Claudia in this new role and we're excited to see all her wonderful ideas in action. Please join me in congratulating Claudia the next time you see her around. She has already hit the ground running and has arranged a special treat this month: stay tuned for more information on the Jazz Festival on October 26th.

Finally, I wanted to share around our Information Directory, which is distributed monthly to residents and may prove useful to our Forest Hills Friends & Family. Click here for the Directory.

As always, I am available to talk with you about our community and welcome you to drop by anytime.

Hope to see you around,

National Seafood Month
Fish and Health

The most recent Dietary Guidelines recommend that most adults eat fish twice per week.

Fish offer a unique combination of protein and beneficial fats that has been linked with lower risk of heart disease and improved brain development in babies.

Certain fish, however, have been found to contain higher than recommended levels of the toxic metal methyl mercury, and shouldn't be eaten frequently.

Varying the type of seafood you eat can help reduce your chances of taking in too much mercury.
