Hello members!
It's hard to believe that Fall is already here, and soon we'll be looking at the end of the 2025. The Gem has a lot of programs, plans, and possibilities in the works before we start talking about that though, including what's on the calendar for this month.
The Gem is thrilled to partner with award-winning songwriters and musicians Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines for a free community concert called "Every Voice Belongs" on Saturday October 11. This event caps a two day songwriting workshop for nonverbal and verbal persons with disabilities. More information on the event can be found in the flyer posted in this newsletter, and on the Gem's website. Hope you can make it!
Mark your calendar for Sibby Barrett's "Fall Table Community Dinner" on Thursday Oct. 23 at 6PM. The link for tickets and the menu is included in this message, and on the Gem's website. Looks like a tasty and cozy evening to welcome the shifting of the seasons.
We have some specific volunteer needs / opportunities coming up:
Trail Workday (Oct / Nov)
Emergency Response Center committee
Facility expansion planning committee
Wildspace management / cedar removal and management (Oct/Nov)
Health and wellness fair planning (Jan/Feb event)
Reading Between The Wines event helpers (Nov)
Open studio and art walk (TBD 2026)
Indie Film Nite 2026
Create Healthy grant project (Nov)
Also, we're excited to welcome a new volunteer to our grants team, thank you Emily V. for offering to help!
